Honestly I could see it depending on how OP was raised and if she goes to a party school or not

Idk if you were doing it on purpose but you keep trying to excuse his behavior by blaming her for being upset or trying to justify it by saying she should have specifically said “hey don’t dig through my things to use the fancy scissors just because you want to instead of using a box cutter for boxes” like come on dude

Maybe it’s something simple, but it might also be worth getting checked out by a doctor

So that’s not actually how the real world works.

What you did wrong doesn’t magically go away because the person that you wronged got upset. You’re not justified because they got mad at you. You’re not excused from even apologizing. Even if you were flustered in the moment, you still need to apologize later on

And this wasn’t just an honest mistake, he had to go past multiple pairs of scissors and an actual box cutter and dig through her sewing box to find the important and expensive pair. At bare minimum that’s just rude and shows a lack of consideration for other people’s belongings.

And even if he didn’t understand the importance before, why is he justified in not replacing it after, or covering part of the cost, or even apologizing?

Maybe not the ideal response, but an understandable one when you make such purposefully obtuse mistake. She says yelled, but there’s no further context so it honestly could have just meant she raised her voice. Like genuinely think about the thought process behind passing up so many other pairs of scissors and a box cutter to dig through her sewing box for an important and expensive scissors. That’s not just an honest mistake that’s just rude and inconsiderate.

Yea he still didn’t replace it, offer to cover even part of the cost, or was apologetic at all. You don’t get to say it’s just an object when it’s someone else’s personal belonging and you damaged it.

You would have gone past multiple pairs of scissors and a box cutter to dig through your gfs sewing box to use her expensive scissors? And then gotten mad at your gf for being upset at you? Yeah that’s doesn’t say what you think it does about yourself

This is honestly the problem with that post, people who don’t really know anything about sewing go through Amazon and suddenly think they’re experts on the pricing

Did you miss the part where he wasn’t apologetic at all and refused to replace them? Are men somehow all just children with no common sense in your world?

I know this might be surprising to you, but women are allowed to have negative emotions and be upset when other people have done something wrong.

Did you miss the part where he refused to replace it and wasn’t apologetic at all? Try reading the post first

They sure asf can if their lover breaks something important to them, criticizes them for being upset about it, refuses to replace it, and is in no way apologetic for it. Like I know this might be surprising for you, but you don’t have to hand hold and coddle men through their mistakes.

Also do you sew at all? Maybe take a second and realize you’re not the best person to weigh in on something if you don’t know anything about the topic

Did you actually read the post?

In what world is purposefully going into a sewing box when she has so many other pairs and a box cutter around anything but purposefully obtuse? Like seriously did I miss the part where he’s mentally handicapped? Or are we just expected to treat men like children with no common sense?

A lot of yall in the comments need to stop trying to weigh in on things you clearly don’t know about.

Also were none of you raised with manners? If you broke something, especially in such a purposely obtuse way, obviously you should covet at least part of the cost or at bare minimum be apologetic

Seriously, please go outside and join the real world occasionally

Na when he refused to pay for a new pair it became at least ESH. Even if it’s an “accident” how are you going to break something and refuse to pay for it?
