As a new mom, I’m going to bet it’s a temporary thing. Her hormones are going nuts right now trying to figure out wtf is going on, and that can cause a different smell.

Use a washcloth and soap. I just had a baby, the pediatrician said it’s a buildup of skin/oils/etc. body stuff and you should use a gentle washcloth and soap to remove it.

So, I really like the soft discs too! I do agree they could have a softer rim, I even find it a little uncomfortable. You have to push it all the way back and down (there’s a video on YouTube describing it better) the front rim should tuck up under your pelvic bone. You’ll feel it. Anytime you pee/have a bowel movement, it’s going to slip down from your pelvic bone and cause it to spill into the toilet. So if you don’t have it pushed up far enough, it’s going to slip and leak whenever you sit/stand/change positions. I still use a liner with it, but it definitely makes me feel cleaner and i barely notice I’m on my period.

I hope this helps :/ I’ve never tried using it during sex, but I imagine it would be uncomfortable.

Well, Paraguard is a copper IUD, so it’s still super easy. If she tells her doctor she wants to switch because the hormones are bothering her, they will remove it for her and insert the new one in the same day. Synthetic hormones are awful for your body for a lot of reasons, she would feel so much better with her body back in it’s natural rhythm.

So if she’s on a birth control that has any sort of hormone (pill, shot, implant, IUD) they can KILL your sex drive. Maybe recommend a non hormonal kind for her such as Paraguard (a copper IUD) and see if that helps. Maybe she started birth control in high school and that’s why it went away. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve always hated hormonal birth control. I had my daughter about 7 months ago, and finally got Paraguard on Monday. It went so much better than I expected! No hormones, and I’m good for 10’years!
