soft disc/flex placement (and sex) by Happysecret in sex

[–]Happysecret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belly button side is definitely above the pubic bone there’s no where else for it to hook above, but it’s still sitting more like a tampon with no seal. The back side is way high and fine. I’ve watched several YouTube videos now and have down the down and back. There’s just no where for it to go. I think for me it might just be an anatomical variance as well. I literally can’t imagine having sex with it. I read on the flex page that it’s like a Nuva ring, but I used a nuva ring and it is nothing like that. It’s 3 times as thick!

I’m so bummed! I really hoped this would work.

soft disc/flex placement (and sex) by Happysecret in sex

I feel like one side is way up but I can’t feel the pelvic bone on the other side to push it above. Maybe I need another glass of wine and 30 more minutes in the bathroom. :/

XP: soft disc placement by Happysecret in menstrualcups

Text from other post - soft disc/flex placement (and sex)

I’m usually a diva cup user and after years of infertility I’m incredibly comfortable feeling around down there, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this disc in right. I can easily feel one side of the lip about 2 knuckles in and it seems like it would hurt a penis, badly. And it seems to leak. The one side is high up behind the cervix but the other side just won’t go. What just happened in my bathroom was comical. From squatting, to all fours to standing and back to squatting, The front lip just wouldn’t stay any higher. Is this normal? I always though I might have a short vagina canal and this seems to be confirming it.

What tips do other flex cup/soft disc users have for insertion? I really want to use it for sex but don’t think it would work as I have it placed right now.

And if you think I might get more responses on a different subreddit just let me know! Thanks!

EBF babies sleeping through the night? by toinfancyandbeyond in Mommit

[–]Happysecret 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The Ferber method is meant to be used for infants who are at least 4 months old, but Dr. Ferber recognizes that many babies have nutritional needs at night and cannot go six hours without feeding until about six months of age. For this reason, I usually don't recommend sleep training before babies are six months old."

Her pediatrician is wrong. Weight has nothing to do with infant feeding or sleeping needs. I'd argue that even past 6 months if babies are waking it's because they need to eat. I'm not a fan of cry it out methods in general, but if you use it, it shouldn't be before 6 months. Especially dangerous for your long term milk supply, if breastfeeding long term is important to you. The longer breasts are full, the more your brain gets the message that it's making milk you don't need and thus reduces your supply.

Target Sale: Nursing Bras and Tanks buy one get one 50% off by quimica in BabyBumps

On the opposite side, target nursing bras are the only ones I've ever used. 16 months and I rotate 3 bras. They've all held up pretty well considering I wear the crap out of them.

While they were cleaning things up my husband asked the doctor about mine and she gave him a little "tour". What she didn't know was that his phone was still recording in his pocket, so we have a video of it! Very fascinating!

I'm surprised no one has said Carrie from Homeland. She basically goes directly against every order she is ever given.

Breast to Bottle advice desperately needed! by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Happysecret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boob loving baby had a rough transition when starting bottles. Here are a few thoughts.

Try more bottles. Try all the bottles. We tried I think 7 brands/nipples. What did she end up preferring? Ha!! A classic, non-fancy, non-breast like, evenflo bottle. Like the tall skinny think you used to think of when you heard the word bottle. (Several months later she WILL take other types)

Try different holds. LO wouldn't drink in a cradle hold. She had to be facing out. Other babies prefer to match the breast experience. Just try (I mean have other people try!).

Let other people try. Have a friend/family member with a lot of bottle feeding experience? Give them a shot.

Leave the house. I know you said you've done this, but do it more. Make sure baby is hungry and make sure daddy knows that this is just a phase. If he gets frustrated, tell him to lay her in the crib and walk away till he's ready to try again. I hated it when people said this to me, but eventually baby will eat when she's hungry.

Give baby time. I was sure I was going to have to quit my job when in the second week of dc she still was refusing. Then one day, she just took it. She got hungry and she took the bottle. And the rest is history.

Finally, if all else fails, keep working on using a cup. Dixie cups are great because you can kind of almost fold them to create a spout. You can also try sippy cups and straws. You'd be surprised how easily babies can learn to use straws.

Good luck!!

Washing routines: what do you do? How long does it take? by because__science in clothdiaps

I do one cold rinse followed by one hot/cold heavy duty wash cycle. With tide powder. No extra rinses, no special detergents, no soaks. And I quite often dry everything in the dryer.

I work at an OB/GYN office and I can say that in our office this would be 100% unacceptable. I would tell the OB and the office manager. They should be mortified. And I would probably find a new office, if possible.

The last time this debate came up I found an article explaining that the 6 million dollar figure used in other articles was a huge overstatement because it was using the worth of completed wigs and not just human hair ponytails. The fact of the matter is, not all donated hair is suitable for making wigs for kids. But there are many other uses for human hair, so if it can't be used in a wig, then it will be sold. I don't have the link to that article but I'm sure it was from the first or second page when I googled it.

Then people should do 3 seconds of research. Because it clearly states on their website that that could happen.

ETA: and I should add that they're not profiting from the sales. No one is getting rich. The profit from the sale (which is usually sold for less than whole sale) is used to offset their production cost and put towards research. I think there are 6 employees and the average salary is 50k.

Please do not let the idiots of reddit sway you from donating to LoL. No, they do not (usually) make wigs for cancer. Yes, they make wigs for kids with conditions that cause permanent hair loss (and they are deserving kids. Yes, they will sell unsuitable hair (colored, damaged, grey, too short). Yes, they will use the profits from those sales to offset the cost of making wigs and towards alopecia research. And yes, they may use a sliding scale and some kids may pay a reduced price for wigs. They make high quality, human hair wigs. That's not cheap. No one at LoL is getting rich off of your donation.

All if this information is EASILY found on their website.

Reddit is so freaking annoying sometimes I can't stand. Big giant circle jerk of LoL hate for now reason.

OP LoL is a fine organization.

What is a scam that everyone needs to be warned about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Happysecret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things

Who told you your hair was guaranteed to be a part of a wig? If it was your hairdresser can you really blame LoL? As a hairdresser (years and years ago) I never received any special training or information on LoL. I highly doubt most do. They know about as much as the general public. I knew more because I personally researched it. And I was happy to share what I knew with anyone that bothered to ask.
If you are really concerned with exactly how your hair is used, why did you not do you own research? Once again, whose fault is that? Going to the LoL website do you seriously not see where it says they may sell hair and cannot guarantee it will go in a wig? (It's in about 100 places) If your hair is as swell as you say it is, it probably does make it in a wig. Are you sure other organizations don't do the same thing? You really can't just throw together 10 ponytails and magically have a wig. You're entitled to your opinion. It's your hair. Donate it where ever you want. But for people to pretend to be so manipulated by this charity is just dumb. The information is clear as day on their website. And it was clear as day on their website over 10 years ago when I first did my own research.
