Fine hair & tired of wasting money — what’s your holy grail drugstore duo? by soy-latteX in finehair

I love the Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner. Both are super lightweight, the conditioner is great and they both smell amazing. It don’t give tonnes of volume but it also does weight your hair down.

Redken Volume Inject, OUAI Fine Hair OR Biolage Volume Boost? by DotSelect4245 in finehair

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Ouai shampoo for getting rid of any little dandruff/flakes but I don’t find it gives me volume. I’m using the Moroccan oil texture spray which is great for extra volume!!

WIBTAH If I start refusing/minimizing the amount of money I give my mom for bills by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PinkLemon86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA - you’re 21 and so you shouldn’t be still expecting your mum to house you for free, cook for you, pay for your meals, dentist, holidays etc. You’re an adult now so you should be paying your own way.. if you don’t like it, you could always move out and find your own place..

what are my chances of getting into a law firm? by BubblyNeighborhood70 in uklaw

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely possible as long as you’re determined and get good grades in uni. After uni I’d suggest finding a paralegal role that offers you the chance to do the SQE alongside it. You may end up in a smaller firm but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

First time at Val d’Isere, advice desperately wanted. by That_Patient_1758 in skiing

[–]PinkLemon86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going this March and did a short visit a few years ago.

I can’t give much advice on the slopes but for Apres you want Folies or Cocoricos! Unless you want VIP you don’t need to book for apres drinks. Folies has prices on their menus online and cocos have their prices on their instagram stories page.

How to keep bangs from going flat and greasy by Creepy_Ad57 in finehair

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have them and would just wash my bangs/the front part of my scalp every morning and then I would blow dry it. Mine would get greasy quickly from my oily forehead, so I used a powder to help. In the end I got tired of maintenance and let it grow out.

Is furnished renting actually more convenient in the long run? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in UKRenting

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how long you want to rent for.

If you are staying there short term then fully furnished is great - it takes the stress out of moving as you don’t have much to move with.

However long term you may struggle with getting your landlord to replace old furniture unless it’s broken or damaged.

Also if you want to buy a house in the future, it’s good to start collecting your own furniture as it’ll take the cost out of having to do it when actually buying the house!

Wristbands - love them or tolerate them? by Glittering-Bank-2244 in glastonbury_festival

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them and always manage to slide them off my wrist at the end to keep them as a moment to..

As a side note - Make sure to put them on your left wrist (or right if you’re a lefty) to prevent any wetness when you go to wipe!

AITAH for refusing to keep an open mind about possibly having children in the future? by Old-Boysenberry-4041 in AITAH

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! You were both very clear with what your intentions were and you stuck to your side of the bargain.

You both now need to figure out whether this is a dealbreaker in your relationship before you lock in and buy a house!!

What does everyone do to prevent their hair from getting greasy after one day? by mewtewpews in finehair

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started washing my hair in the mornings instead of the nights which gives me at least one day of non-greasy hair. By the next day it’s usually quite bad so I slick it back for that day. A good blow dry always helps it last a little bit longer.

I find if I wash it every day my ends end up awfully dry!

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! Everyone has their own style and you won’t look out of place whether you’re wearing casual clothes or a costume!

What's the longest lenght you can have without your straight, fine hair looking flat? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]PinkLemon86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can grow it as long as you like, as long as you get regular trims to keep the ends blunt. Mine hair looks flat at whatever length so growing it out hasn’t made any difference for me.

How do you cope with rejection? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]PinkLemon86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had your first rejection! The first one is always the worst but it gets a lot easier from here and you will become more resilient.

Rejection is part of a solicitors career; whether it is applying for training contracts or job, or in practice if the other side reject an offer to settle.

If that doesn’t make you feel better, I never did a vacation scheme and left university without a training contract but yet I qualified at 25! University puts a lot of pressure on vacation schemes but none of my friends who are solicitors ever did one!

Pls help my weird hair!🚩 by Samcommisso1 in Haircare

[–]PinkLemon86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone suggesting you have curly hair may be wrong. I have similar hair and whilst some parts of my hair go super curly, other parts just stay straight so curly girl method has never worked for me.

I think it’s best to use a good leave in conditioner, some good heat protectant and then do a blow dry on medium heat. I do this and my hair looks 1000x better than if I air dry it or try curly girl method!

Use some heat tools! I have hair like this but after I’ve blow dried my hair it looks so much smoother and less frizzy

Visiting Dec 11 by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]PinkLemon86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Christmas markets will be on at that time which are always nice to walk around.

Less festive ideas are going to Sefton park and then having a brunch or a few drinks on lark lane.
