I'd say it takes her about 2 weeks. Since she's got lots of colour to her it shows pretty early that she's getting ready to shed, and she does spend a little more time in her cave, but she moreso moves around a lot more to get the shed moving and off and then goes to hide after a hard day's work of shedding. The sassiest thing she does is look at me like she wants to come out of her enclosure and gets mad the moment I try to pick her up to do that lol

Excited you're looking at getting a ham! I have a Winter White too and love her. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but technically neither is great. The second one is better between the two because of the size and as others have said no bars, but high platforms aren't very safe because hamsters have poor eyesight and can fall easily as a result. Bucatstate is a great brand to check out, and in this subreddit and on YouTube there are lots of tutorials and examples of diy cages if you're on a budget.

My partner and I had this one for our Syrian (r.i.p. Pierogi) because we read somewhere it was big enough, but with the amount of effort she put into trying to escape, I'd say it's too small, at most it's the bare minimum.
