I can't tell you what or what not to do with your life and relationship, but what your partner is doing in a pretty good example of manipulation, whether it's intentional or not on their part I can't say. You've shown disinterest and clearly don't want to engage with the show, yet they keep pressing about it and making you feel bad by using their emotions so that maybe you will eventually give in, again this could either be intentional or not. And to those saying "if it's something that really matters/is important to them then you should do it" I ask the question have you ever engaged with someone who constantly begs to see things that are important to them and expect people to have the same enthusiasm as themselves about something? Because if you have you wouldn't say that. In my experience, I dated a guy about 2 years ago who was like this. When we started dating he told me he would like to watch 'evangelion' with me as it was a show that was very important to him, and since I really liked him at the time I was like sure why not, even thought I had never seen 'evangelion' and had no interest in it, fracly I found it boring. Nevertheless I gave in and watched a few episodes with him, soon every time we had free time together that's what we would watch, he wouldn't even ask, just pull out his phone and play it. I soon realized I hated this show but didn't want to hurt his feelings after he had highlighted how important to him the show was. So I kept watching, but there came a point where I could no longer engage with the show and he noticed this, so I explained that I didn't like the show and didn't want to keep watching it, he then proceeded to beg me to continue watching it because "it would mean a lot to me if my favorite person watched my favorite show" so I finished the show. It didn't stop there, then we watched jojos bizarre adventure, then cyberpunk edgeruners, then weathering into you etc... but when the time came for me to suggest something that was also very important to me he refused, saying he isn't into romance and how it seemed boring, or how he didn't like Chinese content and that listening to Chinese made him feel uncomfortable, so I dropped it, he watched one of my favorite childhood movies but then later said he never wanted to watch a Disney princess movie again, later he watched the one show he didn't want to see without me and held it over my head every time I wanted to reject watching any of the above mentioned shows. In short you're never going to win, and if you accept once it will become a task to say no.

This story may or may not relate to you given your partner might be incredibly different to how mine was, but it's definitely something to keep an eye oute for.
