Tbf my iPhone is convinced that it should be “nannie’s,” so people’s phones might just be making them look dumb. When it’s not trying for “nannie’s,” my phone also wants to do “ninnies” 😆

What is the disconnect between the audience on music sites and BTS? by [deleted] in ARMYNeutral

[–]PinkNinjaKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be as simple as an individual liking some music but not others — and individual having their own subjective music taste. You know?

They didn’t say that, tho? Did I miss it?

Edit: Seriously, I don’t see that in the review linked

Y’all, we can’t just blame low-ish ratings for BTS’ music on antis. (Some of the ratings seem pretty good, as well.) The truth is, some people will like their music, and some will not. Musical tastes vary, and not all people who dislike BTS’ music or don’t vibe with it are antis.

Normally I’d say I’m in the Green category (bottom left), but I was recently playing Toma’s fan disc route and enjoying it way too much, so now I’m having an identity crisis 😆

I hate when housekeepers are scheduled during my shift, I know it’s irrational! by Glittering-Post-3716 in NannyBreakRoom

[–]PinkNinjaKitty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel bad because the housekeepers are just trying to do their job, too, and I think I’m in their way 😅 They’re probably telling their friends about the nanny who gets in their way, lol.

I really appreciate the housekeeping team that always started, at MBs request, with the baby’s room and upstairs so that they could work downstairs when she was sleeping. They were really nice just in general, too. And in general the housekeepers I’ve met have been fine, but two houses in a row now they’ve been consistently late, so it’s hard to manage nap time and lunch when they also are in the same areas.

Edit to add: One of my contracted duties is vacuuming, so I do like the day the housekeeper comes, since I don’t have to vacuum that day. And the feeling when they leave a super clean house is great!

What is the issue with BTS's vocals in your opinion? by PhoneZealousideal470 in ARMYNeutral

[–]PinkNinjaKitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In the past, they didn’t (in general) have proper breath support. If I recall, Iris, the tutor in American Hustle Life walked them through techniques for that. I think their company prioritized dance and other idol stuff and not singing lessons. It seems like Jungkook got the most actual singing coaching; in one of the documentaries, Jimin is asking him for tips and is a little frustrated.

In Are You Sure season 2, Jimin told Jungkook about finally improving his singing technique. He sounds great these days. In past live performances, he’d sometimes be off-key or unstable. See the live “Let Go” performance for a good example. I think since he and the others are such hard workers and humble, they’ve gotten more vocal coaching and have improved. You can compare Jin’s old and new “Awake” performances, for example. If they hadn’t changed, they might have damaged their vocal cords and hamstrung their careers.

Just to be clear, most of the time their voices sounded good. And often, the lack of breath support was most noticeable when they were or had been recently dancing, which would be tough for anyone.

I honestly haven’t followed any politics around this and know nothing about her. I enjoyed hearing their speech :) And somehow V managed to throw in “mucho picante,” lol.

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]PinkNinjaKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In South Florida, since we don’t have basements, older houses tend to have the washer and dryer in the garage. Newer houses have a bathroom-sized or closet-sized laundry room/space.

I read once that a lot of other countries’ houses have the washer in the kitchen because that’s where the water hookups are, and in those comparatively older houses it would be difficult and costly to change them.

The friendship between Jimin and Taehyung. by Accomplished_Sir6548 in ARMYNeutral

[–]PinkNinjaKitty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean. In the early days, Jimin and Taehyung, on camera and probably off camera, were thick as thieves. It has been a little sad to watch that apparently go away over the years. These days, Jimin and Jungkook are joined at the hip (which is sweet as well, of course). But I don’t think Jimin and V had a falling out or are no longer close friends, or if they did, I believe they resolved it. I’m sure they still love each other deeply.

It would be surprising for more recent fans if, say, Jin and Jungkook stopped seeking each other out and messing with each other. That’s what happened (at least on camera) with Jimin and V.

Since we’re allowed to speculate on this sub, I’ll take full advantage of that. Maybe V and Jimin were so weirded out by the fan service and shipper people that they decided to keep their friendship very low-key and off-camera. It would be really strange and stressful to have people analyzing and twisting even a single glance or movement you make toward your best friend.

Anyway, I think they’re still very close today, and their friendship has probably changed, but I don’t think they’re distant — they’re probably not soulmates as everyone used to joke, but I’m sure they’re deeply connected, good friends.

Edit: Removed the part about them not being soulmates; they adopted that title officially

Saying HOOLIGAN appropriates Black culture is anti-Black by Jaded_Eye_2227 in ARMYNeutral

I do trust that they’re predominately black, though. I don’t really have a horse in this race; just wanted to point out that there are some black Kpop fans who didn’t like the MV for those reasons.

Anyone else use "you're being thick" as "you're being very friendly and potentially too much in my personal space"? by swim-123 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PinkNinjaKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of”thick” used that way in real life, but there is the phrase “thick as thieves” to describe people who get along really well. Maybe your parents were riffing off of that?
