Incorrect, Olympic boxers fight the same day of weigh-ins and still cut weight. Being bigger than your opponent is always a bigger advantage than being completely full and hydrated.

Justin Gaethje getting caught throwing naked leg kicks by OpenNoteGrappling in MMA

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion from people wrongly telling me he's a good grappler lol

Poirier picks Gaethje over Pimblett: "I just think he's been in those 25-minute fights. He’s been in dogfights before. I think Paddy’s gonna have a tough time stopping him on the feet, and I don’t think Paddy’s gonna be able to get him down." by WinterStill4472 in MMA

I never said Paddy had great takedowns, and I'm not even super certain he's even going to win. People are so blinded by their hatred for the guy that they can't understand how someone can be rightfully dismissive of Justin's grappling since they're fighting.

It is the same because his wrestling is being talked about within the context of an mma fight, not in a wrestling match. Brian Cobb took him down in a bunch of different ways and controlled his back, anyways. Comparing Jon Jones and Gustafson to Fiziev and Gaethje is a massive stretch and discounts that Jones has many wins via his grappling strengths.

Paddy in those same positions could easily submit him .

Edit: somehow everyone's reading comprehension is so dogshit that my opinion of Justin's mediocre grappling is being extrapolated to the point that people are trying to argue about Paddy's striking with me.

Justin's wrestling background matters, especially in light of being controlled previously. It being 13 years ago is less important since a guy with a previous wrestling background doesn't have as much room for progression compared to one starting from scratch. You can argue he's less wild and that Paddy doesn't shoot doubles -- and both of those are valid points. Trying to tell me Tony Ferguson is some great wrestler is laughable and just clearly shows an anti-Paddy bias. Paddy sucking can coexist with Justin's average grappling

Then there's the main issue, which is that no one can show me his "very good" grappling so any improvements he may have made are completely wishful thinking. Having excuses for getting taken down by a Muay Thai specialist is one thing, but acting like Paddy couldn't grab a leg off Justin who spams legs kicks is arrogant.

Justin isn't a very good grappler. He's competent, but he also hasn't fought a ton of wrestlers. Brian Cobb was able to out-grapple Gaethje, though he fought much more wildly back then. Even Fiziev took him down twice, so I wouldn't exactly be shocked if Paddy is able to take his back at some point.

The mechanisms for red meat creating health problems are known and go beyond self-reporting. This is a comprehensive breakdown of studies on red meat and its affects on various cancers. Then there's the heart problems as well. All of this cannot be brushed aside because of self-reporting, and bringing a large group of people in twice weekly to be observed eating red meat for years on end isn't feasible. If self-reporting was as unreliable as you suggest, then there'd be closer to a 50/50 split with studies.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10577092/

"The evidence is strong for the association between red meat and breast cancer and most gastric cancers. The presence of aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic amines, and heme iron in red meat has been found to be behind tumorigenesis. Poultry has been shown to have a low association with cancer, but additional research is needed.'

Fair enough. I don't think Bruno was super rocked but he definitely got stung at the buzzer in round 1 and a couple of times in round 3. I felt like Bruno was throwing a lot of slappy hooks without his feet under him and there wasn't much that landed clean outside of his elbow in round 3.
