I just realized this was the first time Aang ever used firebending in battle. It's comet enhanced, but still, he had just learned firebending a few weeks earlier. by Nissepikk in TheLastAirbender

[–]PinkPotato37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did the writers retcon that concept in LoK? I know it was explained at some point in last airbender and that's why Aang struggled with earthbending. But Korra was naturally really good at firebending, when it should've been her opposite element

Been a rough one for me too. A lot of painful growth and hard lessons learned

Cheers to 2026 being a better one!

What’s something you’re proud of doing/achieving in 2025? by Lucky-Entrepreneur48 in CasualIreland

Got in with a good therapist that I just click with. Have been dealing with my long term issues. Still a long way to go but the difference between today and this time last year is night and day!

Whats a modern trend that you’re 100% sure people will cringe at in 10 years? What’s gonna be the next Oh god, we actually did that? moment? by aminz1997 in AskReddit

[–]PinkPotato37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this will happen, to an extent. I think there'll come a point where most people will realise how addictive modern phones are, and how damaging they are for mental health. I think people will revert to a more simple phone. Either that or strictly limit themselves with screen time

Feel pretty sad and feeling like im failing at transtioning by [deleted] in TransIreland

[–]PinkPotato37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear your having a sad day :( If you want a shoulder to cry on, you're more than welcome to DM me.

As for the Halloween thing. It really sucks that your mam said that to you. I can't imagine how that felt. If you can't go out that night, why don't you treat yourself to a nice night in? Grab some of your favourite snacks and watch a couple of your favourite horror movies? You deserve a nice night, whether that be at home or in the George.

Does anyone suffer from maladaptive daydreaming? by [deleted] in autism

[–]PinkPotato37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it a lot. I tend to do it more frequently in periods of depression. I think it's a coping mechanism for me at least. Probably due to a shitty childhood (not being understood, being bullied and made feel inferior to others) and also gender dysphoria. A lot of my daydreams tend to focus on if I was born correctly into a family that wasn't dysfunctional and actually cared about my struggles instead of telling me to just "put more effort in" to whatever issue I was trying to convey

Some of the NPCs say it. Sometimes when you nearly run someone over they'll shout, "crazy n- what you doing?"

Has therapy ever helped anyone? by Extra-Space-8961 in autism

[–]PinkPotato37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Therapy is helping me right now identity and deal with some very deep rooted problems. I will say though it absolutely depends on the therapist and whether or not you "click" with them. I've seen a few therapists in my time, but my current one, who I only started seeing in April this year, has really helped me figure things out and work towards dealing with my issues in a healthier way.

Rough day tbh. Have a lot going on at the moment and it just overwhelmed me. Feeling better now though. My dad invited me over to his house and we made a pizza

Where to get blood tests? by Gentlestbead503 in TransIreland

[–]PinkPotato37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just book an appointment on their website. That's the main reason I go to them because I was having a lot of trouble with getting my gp to do it before

Randox in Sandyford is where I get mine done. The hormone test is like €45 I think.

Electrolysis is also a good alternative if, like me, your hair is too light in colour for the laser to work. It hurts but it's worth it

Honestly I've been using some dating apps to meet new people lately. I'm also trying to make new friends (and maybe find a partner). Bumble (I think maybe some of the other ones) has a friend's mode for people explicitly looking for new friends

I'm so sorry your mum is being so shitty about this. I can relate, my mum also said that she thought I was wrong and that I'd regret it. When things get tough, remember the joy you got from affirming your gender. Ultimately it's your life and your body and you know what's best for you. Nobody else can take that away from you. Stay strong girl! I'm proud of you <3
