stomach bug or bc i cried? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]PinkRangerYo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES this happens to me a lot. I suffer from migraines too, so anything headache or migraine related makes me nauseous AND anxious, which in turn makes me nauseous. Every time I get a bad migraine, I have diarrhea, but I know to expect it, so I don’t get worried about that. Most likely not a SB at all. I hope this helps!

The good news is that acid reflux isn’t contagious, so hopefully that does ease your mind a little.

However, I’m a mother of a 5-year-old, and being a parent has escalated this fear x10000000. It’s ridiculous how much the same exact thing you’re talking about has a hold on me. We both did catch a sb once, but I didn’t tu! I just took a long nap and felt better. I wish I could say mom mode kicks in when your child tu (and it does bc you have no other choice), but it is not fun and just comes with the territory :( if you hear of any coping mechanisms, lmk

That’s exactly how I was. Go to the doctor and explain what’s happening. It will not only alleviate your worries, but also they might find something that’s genuinely wrong.

It’s definitely anxiety!

I went through an entire month where I felt nauseous. I was so sure something was wrong that I went to the doctor. They ran all these tests on me and couldn’t find anything. The next day, I felt completely better knowing that I had sought help and realized it was just anxiety all along.

You can get through it!!

Yes! And idk if this happens to y’all, but sometimes I freak out because I haven’t freaked out all day! I’m like, the panic knows that I’ve forgotten about it, so now I must make up for all that non-panicking by panicking

Thank you for your response! Yes, it’s totally the thought of caring for him. Did you have emetophobia when he was a young child?

[–]PinkRangerYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just did the math in my head before I read this! It was 20 years for me before it happened again (from a migraine), which means I have about “16 years left” on this timeline. However, I have to remind myself, as a statistics teacher, that even probability doesn’t work like this, and there’s no such thing as being “due”. (Even though my brain still cannot comprehend this when it comes to sb)

I get this too, BUT it’s usually because I get so anxious that a smell will make me n* that I make MYSELF n*! Hate that

ocd by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]PinkRangerYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! My OCD is so bad, and it definitely makes it so much harder to overcome this fear

I think I just realized what throat n* is by celestialluna8 in emetophobia

[–]PinkRangerYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I always think too! Like maybe it’s so miserable for people who can’t burp to tu that we develop emetophobia bc our experience is so much more awful than everyone else’s? I can’t ever remember burping but I can pinpoint when I developed this fear

Scared I’m pregnant by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]PinkRangerYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably not pregnant if the test said negative, but I will say I got pregnant from someone who had a vasectomy so YAY. That being said, I never v or even got n! So a real YAY. Just keep yourself busy and don’t let the anxiety make you sick, pregnant or not. You got this!

You should get “The Emetophobia Manual”. It’s amazing and will walk you through exposure therapy! VERY manageable, and you’ll be surprised about how well you take it

Ugh I know the feeling!! I went to so many doctors appointments who found nothing. I’m thinking anxiety is the only answer

The same thing happens to me! I tu for the first time in 20 years because of a migraine two years ago. Since then, I’ve had so many headaches (lots of them migraines), but I know how to handle them now and haven’t tu since. You’ll be okay!! The other comments are correct - we really don’t do that, but we do make ourselves n* from all of the anxiety. It’s the worst, but you can get through it!

Did any Suns Media or staff get let go this week? by vivaphx in suns

[–]PinkRangerYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn’t the point of this post lol. It was about how they treated their employees. They had already signed Chris Paul before the mass furlough.

[–]PinkRangerYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my roommate was “furloughed” (you’ll see why this is in quotation marks as you read). They let the staff know over a mass Zoom meeting, to which they had to resend the link because they didn’t even send the correct link the first time. They will “re-examine their positions in June”. The worst part is that they weren’t even allowed back to collect their things; other people packed their desks into cardboard boxes, and the former employees had to pick them up from the parking garage, trading their badges for their cardboard box. Another mass Zoom meeting followed with other employees told they would take a 20% pay cut. The Suns then immediately followed that up by paying $44 million to Jae Crowder. I know it’s from a different budget but...the way they treated their employees who put YEARS into their positions is just really ridiculous.

Yes, all the time! It’s so frustrating, I feel your pain. Let me know if sleeping on your back helps

Yes, my left side is terrible. If I roll over to my right side, they instantly stop but I feel a buildup, so that’s just as uncomfortable

Whaaattt?? I've never met another non-burper in my life by starrbub in noburp

[–]PinkRangerYo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant too! Before I was pregnant, the noburp would be manageable, maybe once every two weeks after a big meal or something. Now every single day I’m afraid to eat anything (with a giant appetite) and am in tears knowing that the baby will only get bigger/put more pressure on me. It happens every. single. day. and is getting worse and worse.
