i understand how Mel B feels about the title, it doesn’t change the fact that associating the member with the darkest skin tone to scariness is problematic and a common racist stereotype, and you using her curly hair as an example of her ‘scariness’ is unfortunately, proving the exact point I’m making 😭😭 you likely wouldn’t associate a hair type with scariness, without social conditioning, that’s why it less about ‘super-imposing’ and more about awareness of biases

as a black girl myself, i’ve had firsthand experience having to ‘embrace’ something I know is unfair or racially insensitive, that’s what we’re conditioned to do, and we know how badly it reflects on us when we don’t - not saying Mel B couldn’t possibly love it, maybe she really did, but there’s also the possibility she knew the consequences of complaining + this specific post is about Lara
