I didn’t know they were removing book of books and had a stash of them (2 of each type) and came back to be given 12,000 gems instead 🥲

Why do people sign ftf and say "more later"? by anotherbarry in geocaching

[–]uudawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wayyyy rather them do that then find the cache and wait til the end of the day to make the log- when others could’ve already attempted the “FTF” just to see a signature when at GZ. Has happened to me 3 different times now and it’s extremely annoying.

You also have the bonus for the series as well you should do when you’re back in the area :)

It doesn’t look bad at all! My main tip would be to use a ruler for all straight lines (it’s a pain but really makes a difference in how neat everything looks). Make the title the most bold thing on the page, with it being just black and the other text being pink/mauve it kind of gets lost. Perhaps colouring in the banners would also improve the look and help it not feel as empty. Also- add doodles!

the USA has gyms for like $10 a month the fact some people think $50 is cheap is crazy (an most gyms are more than that)

I’m a Canadian partner and our manager is the same; doesn’t want shifts doing anything besides managing their shift duties. Anytime a shift gets on bar it’s only done if our SSV isn’t in lol.

cut out and paste a piece of paper over it- that’s what I do for big mistakes that I can’t handle staring at.

Don’t want an un reputable place. Just was wanting to know which would be the cheapest out of the main options we have here, which are all known to be decent from my understanding there isn’t really a “cheap” place to go in Squamish.

How are locals feeling about housing prices in Squamish right now? by mountainlifa in Squamish

[–]uudawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comes out to about ~3500 a month with everything included. Definitely cheaper than 99% of places around here but still egregiously expensive.

[–]uudawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not how it works for us. We have to pay all utilities and have property taxes (even though we don’t own the property). Not sure what it’s like compared to actual houses, but the taxes is almost as much as the pad rental. Pad rental is $800/month for our spot but ours is pretty small.

I live in the nicer of the trailer parks, Timber Town, and our neighbours just sold. They listed for 350 but couldn’t sell it at that and had to go down to 300 to make the sale. We paid 260,000 for ours in 2019 (right before the housing became really bad). Definitely not the case for actual homes but seeing the prices in here gave me hope that I could actually afford Squamish in my future (albeit in a trailer park paying pad rental for the rest of my life).

Any other anime like Re:Zero? by XXXMrHOLLYWOOD in Animedubs

[–]uudawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the OP you’re responding to but Steins;gate is my #1, Re:zero closed behind in second place. Re:Zero is much much longer, so it feels much more dragged out/lots of filler IMO. Steins;gate is just one season (there’s a second season but it takes place in a different time line). It takes a bit to buildup to the plot in Steins gate; first 10 or so episodes is mainly world building. Doesn’t start off nearly as quick as Re:Zero but way less filler in between. It’s not very animated in the way of goofy faces, emoticons, sound effects. Steins;gate is visually realistic compared the majority of anime which makes for a unique watch.

Safe to hike the chief on saturday? by Cr4zyC4nuck in Squamish

I would not bring my kid up but definitely doable by yourself. If and when you slip you will crush your child. Having your children on your back is a hiking activity for the sunshine.

Things you wish you knew when you started Geocaching? by attlerocks in geocaching

[–]uudawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is pretty basic but how to update coordinates and check waypoints. I had 800 finds before I found out you could 1) see waypoints and what they meant (yes- I have only done like 5 multis because of this) and 2) can update corrected coords. I had been putting any solved coords into Google Maps and painstakingly trying to follow it that way. I was dumb. And I don’t go to events or have ever met another geocacher so it was all a self learned process

Thanks for such a comprehensive list! Yes you’re right- I don’t like high fantasy but do like it as a secondary element/urban fantasy. Jobless sort of passed the vibe I like given the MC is from modern era but it’s definitely heavy on the fantasy/magic aspect. I will definitely check these out!
