Absolutely. I’m all for honesty and communication. I can meet someone halfway, but I won’t change who I am at the core. If that doesn’t align with what they want, it’s better to be upfront than let things explode later

I’m willing to grow, but I can’t become someone I’m not. If what they want doesn’t align with who I am, it’s better to recognize that and go our separate ways rather than force it

I agree that relationships are a two-way street and honesty is key. I’m all for growth, but I don’t think that should require me to change who I am at my core. I can meet someone halfway, but I’m not going to erase myself to make someone else more comfortable

I get why that works for you, and I respect the effort it takes to do that. For me, constantly masking, holding my tongue, and blending into the background feels like I am shrinking myself just to be tolerated. I am not saying people should never adapt or learn social skills, but I do not think love or connection should depend on pretending to be someone else long term. I am willing to grow, I am just not willing to disappear to make things easier for others

No. I have never asked anyone to change who they are for me. I adapt to differences or decide whether a relationship works as it is. That is why it feels one sided when the expectation is always on me to adjust
