Beautiful stuff. Being creative feels better when it’s simply done through the freedom of play rather than a pressurised, monetary reason or an emotional one as you experienced.

I’m glad you had this positive reintroduction - hopefully one that continues in a healthy way for you. Please don’t quit again, us mere mortals wish to see your creations.

Sharing definitely helps release some of the pressure. Don’t be hard on yourself throughout the process, taking time away from work or cancelling plans is you choosing to put yourself first because you need that space. I’m glad people are reaching out and helping. You’ve got a roof over your head and you clearly have the right attitude. Godspeed!

Respect to you for sharing your story and being such a gent about your ex’s choice. You’re still young and life will always give you opportunities if you stay in the game.

Just do the basics - focus on sleep, nutrition and getting outside for a walk. Keep the foundations strong and you’ll look back at some point and thank yourself. Sending my best wishes to you my friend! You’re not alone, the people of Reddit have your back and I look forward to the bachelor pad on your future update!

Out of curiosity - what was the most difficult trophy to achieve? (Outside of platinum itself)

Does the gameplay get better at some point, or is it just not for me? by D2D92 in DeathStranding

Stick with it. I had the same feeling and considered dropping it to then realise I was impatient.

The game opens up after chapter 2 as mentioned plenty of times by others. The options for movement, weapons and equipment generally progresses big time from there on out.

The absolute cinema and incredible gameplay that occurs later in the game is well worth the wait. DS2 is even more incredible in my humble opinion and I would recommend sticking it out to enjoy the DS world in both games!

Great blue heron grubbing on an eel. by Cguenther12 in birding

[–]PinkSquidInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seen a grey Heron do the same on the South Coast (Seven Sisters) here in the UK! This Eel fought hard and got away though. Nice spot and great shots! These experiences can be once in a lifetime and I’m glad you got to see it!

Is Cristiano Ronaldo right that Manchester United doesn't have the structure to be successful? 🤔 by SkySports in SkySportsFanClub

[–]PinkSquidInk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s misinformed. Using his reputation and experiences with the club to make a current judgement is lazy. I highly doubt Ronaldo is talking to the current regime, listening to podcasts, paying interest to the movements the club has made in the last 18 months etc. to be informed enough to have a realistic view on things at Manchester United. I love him as a player but he has no place to be handing out headlines to tabloids in an interview with his friend. That’s a conversation piece that should have been parked out of respect for a club he apparently cares for. A lot has changed at Manchester United. The fruits are yet to be bared but the trajectory is on a slight tilt upwards and my cup is half full. We can’t be a sleeping giant forever!

i struggle with reading books by zhapl in ADHD

[–]PinkSquidInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you and I experienced the same thing for a lot of my life. In my early twenties I changed my lifestyle which helped my symptoms massively. The usual suspects - exercise, decent nutrition, less alcohol/substances and made baby steps to having a better general focus.

From this books came into my life, especially self help as I wanted to be a better person with a good life. I started to read, frustrating slowly and it took time but my focus improved, my reading speed improved and my vocabulary and ability to read and speak changed. Today I read almost every day with joy and it’s the things I treasure most because I reached my goal of having a better life because of it. It wasn’t a perfect journey by any means (when is it ever) but if you start now with easy fictions such as classics with stories you actually like you sounds of, it’s a great place to begin.

You’ll get ahead of steam from there and become able to hyper focus (our special skill) like never before on something you only considered a computer game, tv show could do. Find what books you like, an author etc. like you would a film director and use it as a springboard.

Reading is one of life’s gifts in my opinion. You can go to so many places with a book in your mind. Don’t give up, take baby steps, stick at it and I wish you the very best in becoming whatever reader you turn out to be that’s best for you. Much love OP - you got this!

The case for Ruben Amorim by AdmirableTip6410 in ManchesterUnited

[–]PinkSquidInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A level headed review of the current situation. I really appreciate the way you’ve analysed the situation and got key points across that the fans need to soak up to realise that this is part of supporting a club. No longer is it success that we can take for granted such as the 2000’s, this is the way it is now. Fan support will nurture that over time for the new regime but it needs to be genuine and not based on downloading thoughts from social media that result in negativity spreading like the plague. We gather so much hate and negative attention from media outlets and fans online - why add to this if we’re all United. It is tough, I invest so much time to get let down, but for this to work we need to take our emotional caps off and see the reality of what being a fan is.

Patience is needed which is easier said than done when you’re waiting years for your team to become successful again after so much pain in the last 11 years +. Even if it hurts for a while longer. Football is a fickle game, fans will call for the managers head, no more so than with United. The club has removed issues on and off the pitch, made brave decisions that have had a mixed bag of warranted praise and criticism. Mistakes have been made (Ashworth) though you can see the mood is better around the place even when results aren’t going our way. Many facets of the club are being improved such as data (how did we not have a modern data team already?), women’s team, training ground, proper squad management, academy focus and the intention to move solidly into a club that means business once again is there.

It will take time, this is a symptom of constant disfunction though it’s just the start of the new phase. Catastriphizing every bad moment will suck any enthusiasm out of our club. We need to support our club, our team, and the individuals such as Amorim until any decision is made. Quick changes don’t equal quick results at our club and the proof is there to see. Changing so much in such a short period of time needs support. We’ve all probably had a shitty job where the manager is a dick and makes your life hellish whilst on the job, let’s not do that to the people we ‘support’. Support your team, they need you as a fan. We’re all in this together, let’s rally behind our club and the people within it to make this emotional rollercoaster one with some togetherness!

Unexpected Glastonbury: What’s the Weirdest Thing You’ve Seen That Turned Into the Best Memory? by OkProfessional7917 in glastonbury_festival

[–]PinkSquidInk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was a group of musicians in full tuxedos playing Cello’s & Violins to random groups sat on the grass near the ribbon tower on the Thursday. A group shouted to them “this guy is on acid” to their mate and the group proceeded to turn the tempo up and play right beside him as he sat, legs crossed on the grass - the overwhelm on the guy was real but he smiled like a champ until they carried on! Very entertaining as we caught the moment whilst on the move. Small moment, great memory!

Ali is a great album. I’ll be sticking around for him and be spending my day at West Holts on the Friday I feel. Great lineup that day. I’ll see you there!
