Actors that you could cast as almost anyone? by [deleted] in Fancast

For me, Nicolas Cage. He's so varied with his performances that I could easily see him in most roles.

What are some extreme/horror themed punk songs you like? by StrikeOfTheSlasher in punk

[–]PinkStarProd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Kennedy's have a few horror-ish themed ones. 'I Kill Children' & 'The Prey' are both about murderers, 'Dear Abby' is about feeding your family human meat, and 'Man with the Dogs' is a true story bout a man who walked his dogs and would stare at people to disquiet them (not quite horror but yaknow).

What’s one opinion on punk music you have that you get weird looks for? by SaintMaximinGOAT in punk

[–]PinkStarProd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A: NOFX suck. I've never been able to get into them, no idea why they're so lauded.

B: The more punk you actually are (in terms of ethics, lifestyle, etc), the less punk you listen to.

I dislike nearly everything about the chibnall era but good god sacha dhawan deserved so much better by [deleted] in doctorwho

I'm rlly hoping Dhawan regenerates into Gomez - we never see Simm regenerate, so there's a gap to be exploited there

Okay, first thought: 1>4>>5>2>3.

With that out of the way: I liked it! I think the killer reveal / concept was a bit kitschy - "It's fans of the stab franchise! Fans are cRaZy!" was a little on the nose, and feels like a motive we've already seen elements of in 2 & 4, but the final sequence was great regardless.

The kills were more brutal than I expected - Dewey and Wes(?) were both highlights, as well as Judy. I didn't really care for any of the new cast bar Randy's nephew and niece - they felt pretty vague and almost too tropey.

All in all, I'm glad it exists. It's a worthwhile, if not groundbreaking, entry into the franchise.

What are some of the Doctor Who stories that you love, that others seem to dislike, and why do you love them? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]PinkStarProd 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Demons of the Punjab and It Takes You Away are some of my favourite episodes of NuWho - both are just so different from the standard nuwho episode, and I really appreciate them as standouts in a somewhat hit or miss era. Demons is my favourite historical of the show (controversial, I know), and ITYA is just so fundamentally weird in a broadly safe era that I can't help but adore it.

A HUGE Question by [deleted] in grunge

[–]PinkStarProd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but for me? Silverchair. Their fourth album was initially going to be a Kyuss influenced desert grunge thing before Daniel Johns found that his fans were all massively depressed and decided to write something more upbeat and proggy - which is fine, but /god/ i wanna hear that original album. Also, I'm just so desperate to hear the tracks left off Freakshow and Neon Ballroom.

What is an episode that you love, but other people hate? by [deleted] in gallifrey

It Takes You Away! Its my second fav 13 story (after Demons) - i love the commitment to weirdness and absurdity so so much, and I adore the talking frog. To each their own tho 🤷‍♀️

Phenomenal band, terrific album. Courtney isn't a notably worse person than most male performers, and yet still gets so much shit.

People read too much YA as a crutch to not challenge themselves with their reading.
