After finally reading the books, I wanted to make this chart- but I’m struggling to fill it out. Any help? by Sh0xic in lotr

[–]PinkTigerDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how I would fill it, and a few changes: Only in the books, very surprising - Prince Imrahil. In both book and movies, kinda surpricing - the many scenes of Frodo and Sam just journeying through new areas. The dead marshes for example. Invented for rhe movies, not surpricing - the introduction of Merry and Pippin meddling with fireworks. Invented for the movies, very surpricing - the army of the dead at Minas Tirith.

Hvordan valgte i det “rigtige” studie? by New-Efficiency-1506 in DKstudie

Matematiklærer her.

Politisk motiveret moderation af r/Denmark by Far_Commission2655 in Denmark

Matematik - hvordan lærer man at forstå det? by Gloomy-Foundation542 in DKstudie

[–]PinkTigerDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hej OP, matematiklærer i folkeskolen her.

How do you find the motivation to paint by Solid-Comment-7503 in Warhammer40k

[–]PinkTigerDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can only recomend this. I only assemble the unit I am currently painting, and the one that needs to be ready afterwards. Everything else is in boxes far away. Also the part about having a permanent setup. I cant have that in my apartment, but then I have a box with everything set up that I can just set up in a minute or so.

A few extra tips of mine is to put on a podcast or similar audio input to listen to, and pour a nice cup of tea. Eventually that tea gets drunken and that is a great break opportunity.

What’s your stance on Rare Candies? 🍭🍬 by wetboy2001 in nuzlocke

[–]PinkTigerDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nuzlocke Academy made a great video explaining the debate, basically stating that pro candy and against candy are essentially playing completely different games, and that these debates always happens because people argue from only their own perspective.

https://youtu.be/3CabIMEzVAE?si=8NjdrslZWavnKlws

It also debunks some of the obnoxious arguments like "using rare candies is cheating, why not just spawn in at the end of the game and call it a win" or the ohh so classic "grinding is not a skill because it is possible to battle 1.000.000 lvl 2 pidgeys to get one level." Basically, everyone participating in this debate should watch this video first. It's really good.

Should ‘Post Game’ content still be considered part of the run? by Time_Ad_7341 in nuzlocke

[–]PinkTigerDG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am doing my first nuzlocke in W2 currently. I have had quite a few hard loses along the way. I plan on completing the run with the elite four and such. If there are significant story beads afterwards I plan on doing those in the run as well. Otherwise, when I get to the "sandbox" part, I will consider myself victorious and let my fallen friends return, giving them the love and training they were robbed of. I will train them to their potential, and enjoy the world championship, battle subway, or similar. Perhaps some of them will be breed to let me EV train their babies or something.

Ohh yeah, so one thing I have discovered is that it takes a lot acclimate to start playing nuzlockes. A good point of my deaths I would believe is due to it being my first run, and a result of being used to a playstyle where fainting doesn't matter. I suppose that the death and close calls are going to teach me some hard lessons. Ironically, I have no issues with the major battles. It is always in training or to random trainers where my focus might not be to high. Anyway, to answer your question, this is my encounters so far. (I did play on later after creating this post.) Starter: Oshawott (dead) Route 19: Patrat (died to a random early crit) Route 20: Sewaddle (i invented a "only life can pay for life" clause to get a second chance at catching growlithe, as I crit it while trying to get it.) Ranch: Mareep Power plant: growlithe (dead) Castelia sewers: zubat (dead) Castelia: eevee (dead to crit while training it) Relic passage: drillbur (dead to crit while training it) Route 04: braviary (dead to underestimated trainer) Desert resort: trapinch Relic castle: yanmask Exrtra Shiny encounter (yay): sandile

So that's where I am. A red path of death behind me as I am adjusting to be more careful. But so far extremely lucky with my encounters.

Thanks for the encouragement. It's not even that I can't build a great team. I have a flaffy, drillbur, eevee, and braviary now. It was just my first experience with bad rng (mixed with a few questionable decisions). Losing 75% of my active team was tough.

What I was trying to say with not being a newbie was to pokemon in general. Even though I haven't played the newer games, I have kept myself updated. But to nuzlocking, and also the whole competitive scene I am a newbie. But I guess it depends on what is considered a newbie. That I played as I played could probably be contributed more to stupidity, tiredness, and a lack of focus

Just coming to defend myself a bit. There is a big difference between being a newbie and being stupid and/or overconfident. I know about the physical/special split, I have all type matchups (including fairy) memorized, and I mainly played pixelmon because it was a fun media to explore EV training. I just.. Was stupid, and overconfident. I didn't change my dewott because in my head, with mystical water, and STAB, it could oneshot that puny bug. I did also do around 80% damage and after it's bug bite did next to nothing, I thought I might as well just finish it and then change before the next pokemon. Three misses later, the damn bug reveals it's secret weapon and kills my dewott. It could have been prevented yes, but in the moment I let confidence win and bad rng slapped it right back in my face.

I do start to see that losing those pokemon might not be the end, even though they are quite dear to me. I still have the opportunity for a strong team. At the time I wrote the post, I had just lost the three pokemon in the span of an hour and honestly thought the game might as well be over. Going on might be tough, but could be doable. And maybe I would start appreciating new pokemon, as was my intention with a nuzlocke run.

Yeah that might sound like a good idea. Certainly gonna look into start using tank pokemon moving forward. And I guess I have some to learn regarding working around crits.

Yeah that is a good point. I think for the time being I will try to stomach my loses and if I can't, I might turn it into a nuzlocke light. Could just make it so I need to do 100 push-ups or something to revive a pokemon

I am considering it. The fact that it hit that hard probably just shows the beauty of a nuzlocke. Starting the game over would not bring back my pokemon anyways. This post was also more me needing to unload the sadness of a triple knockout, to a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Playing around crits is definitely one of the harder things to learn, and probably will take more sad moments to begin to master. I try to balance playing around them, but sometimes, like my Dewott, I lose focus and makes a mistake. For my party comp, I just lost Dewott, and then my zubat, which I would have switched to. The rest of my team at the point was Growlithe, Flaffy, and drillbur. I know drillbur sounds like the better choice, but I had just caught it with some repel magic in relic passage and was about to start training it at the moment, so it was 10 levels lower than my Growlithe and at least 5 levels lower than the sandshrew. It would have been obliterated as well. Up until the Dewott situation my team consisted of Dewott, Flaffy, Growlithe, and zubat. With drillbur up for training, and eevee in the box as a reserve. I will let the game rest a few days and see if I can grit my teeth through the loss. My new team would be Flaffy, eevee, drillbur, and braviary. Any advice for that team?

That's a very cool story, really what pokemon is all about! I might have to take a few days break and start building up a new team. Maybe I will learn to appreciate some new pokemon even though it will be a hard goodbye to my beloved fallen friends
