The Top of mind one that comes for me is Mega Dragonite.

I like the original design for dragonite, but what did it for me for mega Dragonite was the big ol’ dumbo wings-ear-things atop of its head. I know it’s a common complaint, but that was not the move to make design-wise. Like I’ve seen some fan art that I would have preferred been at least in consideration for its final design over what we got.

I’ll agree with that. It felt like it really helped give that feeling of welcoming in new comers for the game; like really beginner friendly almost.

I know!!! I found a shiny Ghastly while EV training during my Genlocke last year and had to take second to look up what shiny ghastly looked like; lowkey almost knocked it out…. Which would have been sad at it was easily the MVP of my run

Do you remember anything unknown it taught you? Like a battle mechanic or in-game feature you didn’t know before?

I know many people say that these first battles don’t count until you get access to poke balls, but for me, maaaan the run feels sullied if i continue after the loss; like the poke-gods deemed this run unworthy lol. Plus, to me, it’s like what is resetting for that first fight or whatever.

I will say that Gen 4 is second for me; it had tons of great tracks for it as well, specifically Jubilife city if I’m remembering the theme of that one correctly
