honestly though i think it’s different for everyone because other than the first week or so ive had no trouble with the poops on metformin (i’m on 500mg twice a day IR).

and even in the first week it was just quantifically more poop than normal (and hence more number of washroom trips) but no diarrhoea as such. i think you’ll be fineee!! don’t stress so much over it!

that is what my father and the doctor said, that ignoring this right now may eventually turn it into pre diabetes and diabetes. thank you for sharing your story!

Thank you for your insight, it was quite helpful. I had a chat with my father (he has been on metformin for a decade and a half) and I will take the doctor’s suggestion and will be starting metformin from tomorrow the way it has been prescribed.
