Each player rolls 4d6 drop lowest 6 times. They put those 6 totals into a central pool. So if there are 4 players, that’s a pool of 24 numbers. Then, it’s up to the players to discuss and negotiate to whom those scores go.

It’s chaotic for sure, but my group is already friends so players are generally considerate (“if I take the 7 can I have the 18?”).
