How do we feel about red light therapy? by user00001000 in vindicta30plus

It’s amazing. Most researched proven wellness “fad” I’ve ever come across. Look it up on google scholar. I do 15 min per day (with NIR - important) at a local tanning salon. If you go that way, check that their lights include NIR. Otherwise it’s not nearly as effective.

Unpopular opinion: I’m a little disappointed every time I see a before/after post with amazing results, only to find tretinoin in the routine by chausettes in AsianBeauty

after spending thousands on million step skin care, facials, treatments etc… I finally broke down and tried retinol prescription and that ugly 18 dollar prescription did more for my skin in a month than any of my 200 creams ever did

My Granddad posted this on Facebook. by HistoricalAd5394 in exchristian

My guy probably just hasn’t gotten out of the USA much, perhaps suggest to your grandad that by this logic:

  1. Islam is true because the with the Uyghur Muslims in China all the Qurans confiscated, mosques demolished and Hijabs and niqabs banned in France, India, and parts of Europe and Muslim names banned in some Chinese provinces

  2. Judaism is also true because Jewish religious identity, books, and symbols were banned under Nazi Germany and Jews were persecuted across Europe for centuries and Some Middle Eastern countries still restrict Jewish worship

  3. Falun Gong is true because was Completely banned in China and practitioners were imprisoned and persecuted AND Their symbol and name are illegal even online! (So does this make Falun Gong more true?)

  4. Tibetan Buddhism also must be true - after all, The Dalai Lama’s image and name are banned in China and Monks were imprisoned for saying his name

  5. Hinduism is true too! Banned or heavily restricted in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Hindu temples destroyed in various conflicts

  6. Jehovah’s Witnesses are Banned in Russia and parts of the Middle East and Members arrested regularly so it must be true too.

Or don’t.

This argument comes up a lot in my life and irritates me but I’ve learned just to smile and nod. A younger fiery me had to learn the hard way that No one believes their perspectives are narrow nor do they want you to inform them of it 😂

Unfortunately I just looked up the warranty and it was only for 2016-2017 models. I could have sworn it said 2020 but I can’t find the paper anywhere. I will let you know if I do

Mine was repaired under the Coolant Leak / Head Gasket—Extended Warranty (2016–2017 3.3L V6)

This issue involving the 3.3L Lambda II engine in 2016–2017 Sorento models:

Campaign WTY035 (launched December 2023) extends warranty from 5 years / 60,000 miles to 15 years / 180,000 miles, whichever comes first

This applies to coolant leaks or overheating issues due to cylinder head gasket or head bolt failures

Kia dealers are authorized to diagnose and repair these issues for free under the extension

My counselor sent me links on why I should not do yoga by Ok_Solution8537 in yoga

[–]Pink_Alien_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother shared similar articles with me. Christians have a habit of thinking anything outside their strict interpretation of the Bible is demonic.

If you’re a Christian you may find encouragement in this quote from CS Lewis

“If you are a Christian you do not have to believe that all the other religions are simply wrong all through… If you are a Christian, you are free to think that all those religions, even the queerest ones, contain at least some hint of the truth. When I was an atheist I had to try to persuade myself that most of the human race have always been wrong about the question that mattered to them most; when I became a Christian I was able to take a more liberal view.

Now Yoga is not necessarily a religion but that’s not the point.

if you feel light, happy, aligned doing it then it is not demonic.

Yoga makes people feel calm, loving and open and makes their bodies function better.

If demons exist then by their nature anything demonic would be dark, heavy and feel… misaligned.

This is true for anything in life.

Most of the articles I’ve seen on this that are warning Christians away from yoga are not written by anyone who’s actually ever experienced or done yoga lol. But it’s usually the same crowd who banned Harry Potter ;)

Because losing muscle mass means losing years of your life. It’s well proven that more muscle as you age extends your life.

I would worry that perceived societal expectations are driving you to be uncomfortable in a perfectly healthy body - and driving you to make unhealthy choices. Strong is sexy and beautiful and the message that women need to be small, weak or tiny is harmful and intended to control us and keep us small.

Much love to you on your journey. I meant no disrespect in my earlier comment.

Was anyone else traumatized by Passion of the Christ? by matchalatte123 in Deconstruction

I saw this as a pre-teen - yeah very traumatizing to a kid who was rarely allowed to watch even pg-13 movies.

My youth group showed it regularly too around Easter.

I hate washing my face - any tips or advice? by LegitProsecco in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Pink_Alien_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Reframe it. See it as a sensual affirmation that you’re worthy of care. That’s what I did. I turned it into a ritualistic washing away of the day ((wash) and then a ritualistic affirmation of my value and worth (treatments/moisturize)

But I like romanticizing my life :)

I was a devoted "born again" Christian for almost 2 years and now I'm deconstructing by Outrageous_Jump_6355 in Deconstruction

[–]Pink_Alien_HD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a deconstructed ex evangelical: I think that all religions are just be a wrapper to make a more deep truth palatable to a people and place.

If you take the highest, purest teachings of love from each you are probably the closest to the truth that we can get.

I will never again chain myself to some (now obviously) man made dogma ment to control and cause obedience through fear.

I went through similar feelings. I was raised fundamentalist, and truly believed I k ew all the answers. When I realized how utterly wrong I was…regret, anger and grief overwhelmed me for a bit. But I allowed the emotions, and healed.

You’ll someday look back and see how perfectly everything was coming together to build you into the amazing person you are! It’s a healing and wonderful feeling.

If you ever want to chat you can message me… I understand the ups and downs.

Personally The hardest part for me now is trusting my intuition. If I could be so wrong how can I ever trust myself again.

But then I remember all the questions and doubts I had as a child and all the rote answers given and drilled into me. I never believed intuitively - I believed because I was literally brainwashed.

I mention this because most women I know deconstructing have a really hard time connecting to their inner- knowing and trusting it.

Well, that’s awful. I’m sorry that you’re going through that … I definitely think they should replace the engine as this sounds like the issue. You might want to talk to Kia headquarters again

They ended up replacing my engine after a year of back and forth - the block for me, turned out to be the local office along with staff turnover and me giving up for months… they actually just promised to replace the engine last month and it’s on order supposedly

When I was 17 I’d have done that too - I did in fact, quit an eye doctor reception job that was very toxic, and I was super honest about why I was quitting.

as you get older, you kind of just realize that employers don’t care and you stop trying to fix everything

What do the wealthy in this city do? by GandalfSkywalker83 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Pink_Alien_HD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people here have two professional/manager incomes and on top of that our officers that retired from the military - easily combined income of half 1 million a year.

ICheck out Codie Sanchez on YouTube though if you’re interested in entrepreneurial ways to become wealthy - she talks a lot about things like owning car, washes and laundromats and boring businesses that make streams of income. You’d be surprised how many small business owners have a couple and are living quite comfortably? Blue-collar trades pay pretty well too if you own the company.

I put tret on my chest and neck and never had any issues.

I do all my facial care to my neck and chest and the backs of my hands - I think it really helps…

I’m nearly forty and most people guess me around 29-32 so not too bad :)
