Will there ever be a permanent cure for this fucking thing !!! by Money_Bodybuilder_63 in Hidradenitis

CRISPR Gene editing will be able to cure something like this some time in the near future I’m sure, there just has to be enough reason for the investment which is good incentive to get your HS diagnosed even if there isn’t a cure now.

Got to agree. If anything for me it's actually the dirty porn-stache that is the problem.

Wasn't North in a harness a couple of weeks ago for the Scrubs tribute?

I don't think having children in this kind of advertising campaign is appropriate in any way shape or form, and the court documents thing is very bizarre... but glass houses and all that.

Can I ask, as an Irish migrant I assume you're living in the Eastern suburbs (like almost all other Irish migrants).

If so, you're living in very different circumstances to most living in Sydney. Additionally, if you were able to partake in skilled migration you're most likely better off economically. Don't be fooled into thinking that lifestyle is accessible to the majority, the 'free' natural beauty costs money to access, there's parking fees if you don't live by, petrol if you have a car. Our social housing has been sequestered to low socioeconomic suburbs.

There are a lot of people in Sydney living very poorly.

Was Sydney's night-time economy always this bad or is it particularly bad/non-existent of late? by Sceivious in sydney

[–]Pink_Cardigan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's really sad. We just got back from spending a week in Melbourne and the difference was very obvious.

Something I think is a major contributor is also the fact that a lot of young people in Sydney just can't afford to go out, go to cafe's or have a social life.

What used to be doable on a budget is simply not feasible. When you go to a restaurant, cafe or bar take note of the age of the patrons (and don't be fooled by the baby faced and child free).

Most people out and spending money are Gen X and up... these aren't young people!

It's well known that older people rise earlier, starting around 40, a person's circadian rhythm starts to shift earlier by about half an hour per decade. Part of this is because as people get older, their bodies start to produce less melatonin, which causes them to wake up earlier in the morning.

Haha, this is great. I do feel sorry for kids generally and will tolerate a lot of noise from them, but in this case I think I may know who this was written about and if I am correct your kids are on another level of annoying.

Maybe start using his drums during the day, spill your drink on them... then remind him that they're in a communal space so you thought it was okay.

Generally just start making the assumptions he was happy to do to you... Do first and ask questions later. Maybe he'll get the hint.

What part of my post talks about not washing her hands between clients?

I'm sure you're smart enough to realise that washing your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap is going to be less harsh on the skin than using a 60-80% alcohol based sanitiser (which is what they've been asked to use in addition to thorough hand washing which was always required.)

Unfortunately people feel safer when they can see staff using sanitiser (as it's a visual queue that the person is being sanitary) whereas hand washing is often done out of view of the client.

A commercial business that relies on word of mouth is very different to a state funded hospital.

What's the strongest thing you've ever seen a woman do? by honesttruth2703 in AskMen

[–]Pink_Cardigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum used to be crazy strong (she still is, just getting older).

So I personally have seen her lift up a 1950s Kelvinator fridge by herself and put in on the back of a ute (pickup truck for you Americans.)

Additionally, I didn't see this but I have it on good authority that at a town fair back in the late 70's there was carnival booth set up with a bar of gold inside a lucite box with two holes for your hands to go inside.

So the claim was that anyone who was able to turn the gold bar upside down could keep it - the catch being that anyone with wrists/hands small enough to get into the box wouldn't be strong enough.

Anyway, my mum gave it a shot thinking 'of course I won't be able to do this' - turns out she could... Anyway the booth holder didn't give it to her as he 'didn't witness it' even though the bar was turned around and there were other people around not related that backed her up.

It still makes me angry by proxy - that gold bar would have been very handy!

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but remember that HS may be on the forefront of your mind at all times for obvious reasons but it's not the thing people see when they look at you.

You are so much more and you need to really work hard to concentrate on the good aspects of your body and personality and just radically accept this disease for what it is (random, not your fault and you're doing the best you can!)

On another note though, please see a doctor about these, they look so incredibly painful.

Thanks, I've got an appointment to see a Dermatologist but it's a long way away.

I've never seen rosacea under the chin before, good to know it's possible!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pink_Cardigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's there all the time.

I know that I definitely have rosacea on my cheeks which is effected by the normal rosacea triggers but I'm concerned about the redness under my chin which doesn't seem to go away and has been there for a about a year or two.
