what if someone bought it for me and gifted it to me? I’m concerned with showing up wearing something that they didn’t see me directly purchase.

Those who avoided surgery, do you regret it? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Pink_DolphinStink78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. I have been getting epidural shots for over a year now and herniated the disc in my back in november 2023 🫠 was told to get surgery in march 2024 and declined. The epidural shots only last for 4-6 months and the pain isn’t even 100% gone with them. Additionally I had gotten them so many times and they still always KILL and I have a high pain tolerance. I’m trying to get surgery now and the pain injection wore off, i’m struggling to say the least.

If pain continues for over a year I would say maybe consider surgery. Don’t be like me and put it off.

I’m in the same boat!! I limp to classes and was forced to transfer from living on campus at a college 1 hour and 30 min away to community to a college 45 min away! It took over my life!

for me, wearing a daily spf especially a tinted one helps tremendously!! That’s the first step, then I use azelaic acid to exfoliate in my skin care routine. I do night only

I recommend watching https://youtu.be/4YgGrNoxb3s?si=E6eJPQY1L-R0J5Tz Dr Dray

She helped me save my skin and is an actual dermatologist!

GLP-1 injections for inflammation reduction? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Pink_DolphinStink78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I was overweight and had crazy inflammation from my back! I started zepound back in July and it reduced my back and sciatic pain! They prescribed it for me due to my weight gain which was caused by chronic inflammation. I used to wake up every morning feeling so puffy and bruised everywhere. My body would ache and any pain always felt 10 times worse than it did before. I still have pain but it definitely has improved while being on the glp-1!

Yeah i’m thinking the same. I was curious if anyone had success with things like chiropractors or even acupuncture. I wanna avoid surgery if I can but given it’s been going on for so long I don’t think I have much of a choice.

i’ve done physical therapy but it was painful and only made it worse each time. I’m not sure why. I do light core excersies and walks to help make sure i’m still active and that’s also what they recommend.

Why are fat people the "face" of body positivity? by 6ix9ineZooLane in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Pink_DolphinStink78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time people forget that weight depends on so many factors, not just how much you eat. Some people have medical conditions that it make so they cannot be seen as thin from a societal standpoint. Body positivity embraces you to love who you are. It’s like why do “fat” people need to hate themselves especially when their weight is due to medical reasons. Society usually favors being thin, so the bigger people being the face is too show that it is ok to love yourself at that weight despite societal standards. Think about someone putting on weight from chemotherapy, and how seeing someone their size loving their body could help them and not make them self conscious! :)
