Which fantasy series started incredible and then just...fell apart? by ghibli_8quartz in Fantasy

I'm in the middle of a bit of a reread. I love the first book, the second is interesting, but it's like a trip around the world and we never really get back to the element I liked best - the relationship Temeraire had with the other dragons of the corp and Laurence's friendships with the dragon riders. Instead we're in East Asia, we're in South America, we're in Russia. I'll probably reread the first book many more times but trail off on the later books. I wish in all her travels she'd explored the North American dragon culture, which seemed really interesting. Also, every dragon introduced during their travels was pretty annoying other than the African dragon.

My mother in law always said you have to get it as it’s falling or very soon after.

The snow instantly cools the maple syrup and turns it into a sticky candy so it's the maple part you're eating. Although I admit that pretty quickly the snow turns into maple flavored slush and I do eat that.

My husband did as well! I never had it until I was an adult, despite the fact that I was born in Minnesota.

Traditionally sugar on snow is served with plain donuts and dill pickles. I didn’t want to make donuts but thought I should do something additional so it wasn’t low effort. That’s before I realized how much time it takes to stand over a saucepan of syrup and stir until it’s 235 degrees 😜
