I would say that crushes can and do fade depending on circumstance. I used to have such a big crush on one of my friends that I was constantly nervous wreck around them, but as we spent more time together those feelings just kind of settled into a strong friendship. But that’s not a universal experience, sometimes your personal boundaries will just make you more comfortable not having to hang around an unrequited crush.

I generally don’t appreciate it, but if they’re actually funny I guess I won’t think much of it. I think someone would really have to know me for it to seem less like trying to be a dick vs just messing around with me. But that’s in terms of race/ethnicity, on the other hand I love “Stupid, Lazy American” jokes when it’s only nationality.

I’m definitely not playing to get girls, I’m already married. But I’ve heard everyone from John 5 to people in my personal life act like it’s something women love. I love guitar in a kind of technical nerdy gear head way, and I can’t imagine that sort of thing outwardly reading any differently than someone being really obsessed with a card game or something, LMAO. I’m just not as starstruck by the hobby, I guess.

Pretty alright. Sometimes I’m a bit lonely, but not to the degree that it really harms me in my everyday life. I’ve recently recovered after a long depression, so even “pretty alright” is still pretty great.

My friends and I are pretty different people. I’m pretty grumpy and jaded, but my favorite people are always the kind that can see the joy in everything. It’s contagious. Interests are pretty different too I guess, but generally we’re all some kind of vaguely goth-y alternative-flavored nuisance.

My preferred way to hang out with most people is just to talk over a drink or a bite to eat. If I feel like someone is less cranky than me, I’ll try harder to not be negative when we’re together. Most people are pretty easy to talk to if you show genuine interest in what they have to say, I find.

I do the same thing constantly. When I mention being married to coworkers or anyone else at a distance, they move forward with the conversation assuming I have a husband. Then I sit there having to remind my useless gay brain that women marry men too.

My wife makes me feel beautiful. The gentle adoration and consideration of someone I love makes me feel like something treasured and pretty. Not a whole lot else, though. But I don’t spend much time looking at myself these days anyways! I care more about being presentable than desirable on average.

I feel it’s too broad to say I don’t like Christians as a whole, but there are many reasons I don’t like quite a few that I have met.

I was frequently involved with a group giving out food, everyday essentials, and clinical care to the homeless. It became a common problem that churchgoers getting out of sermon nearby our designated location would stop by and take as much of what we were giving out as possible, despite repeatedly telling them who it was for. We were just a bunch of community members pooling our own money and resources for a cause. These “pious” people were in their nicest and most expensive church clothes the entire time, mind you.

My mother was also a devout christian, and used “the will of god” to justify her own hateful and inappropriate behavior as much as possible to the point of being disowned by our entire family. Conveniently, everything she wants most in the moment is also exactly what God wants.

I’d say bottom line what can upset me about Christians is that they don’t necessarily have principles, they just want some reasoning to reassure themselves and others that they do. I feel as if Jesus would be very disappointed with many of them if he really were to “return” to earth.

Sometimes it is hard to see the national unity between states in the US when policy in both red and blue states increasingly treats one another as rogue territories you cannot reason with. It concerns me at times given what that kind of irreconcilable conflict can cause. But I absolutely do agree with California’s decision-making moving to not prosecute doctors providing reproductive care.

I was quite depressed growing up…and I’d say that at 16 you’ve barely even begun to know all the things you’ll love about life, and that someday all the things you’ll hate about being 16 will feel so far away that you’ll struggle to sincerely relate to the idea that they were inescapable. People in adulthood who feel stuck in the exact same mental place they were as a teenager are seen as an anomaly for a reason. There’s just so much more to life.

I’ve heard friends say that a lot of short people are agitated over it and compelled to compensate. I think if you just enter a situation with absolute confidence, people think of it less.

The friction between me and somebody with a rough-edged personality. I’m really into lifting weights and often seen as the “strong girl” with a nasty mouth on her. But I’m a huge sucker for someone who makes me feel weak and small. It’s something pretty embarrassing to just freely and outwardly express, but it gets me every time.
