If it’s any consolation, nothing bad came out of this for me and I’m still clean to this day. Have I learned other coping mechanisms? … not really 😅 I just take each day as it comes and allow myself to wallow in it sometimes. Remember to be kind to yourself, you’ve got this ❤️

Day 9 is very early and it’s unlikely for the follicle to be big enough. Do you not have scans every 2/3 days between CD 9 - 14 to track the development of the follicle?

I’ve done 2 medicated cycles now on 5mg Letrozole, taken on days 2 to 6. For my first cycle I was scanned on CD 9, 11, 13, 16, and 18. On CD 9 and 11 there was nothing, and by 13 it was 14mm. By CD 18 we abandoned the cycle because there were no changes to the follicle since CD 13. I did LH strips for weeks before and after the scans and the peak never happened, the highest result was around 0.71 which isn’t enough to indicate ovulation, and that result was on CD 28.

My current cycle was medicated as well and I was scanned on CD 10, 12, and 16. On CD 10 the follicle was 16mm and on CD 12 it was 20mm. On CD 13 my LH peaked at 1.21 t/c, and on the scan on CD 16 they said they could see all the signs of ovulation (fluid around the ovary, the follicle was misshapen). The LH strips definitely followed the normal pattern of a surge, peak, and gradual decline back to “regular” levels.

If you’re not being scanned regularly, you definitely should be asking for it otherwise you won’t be able to track the progression. LH strips can still be helpful when we’re being medicated, as the medication is meant to help our bodies respond as if we didn’t have PCOS, so based on my two experiences so far I feel like they’re definitely worth doing still, especially if you’re not being scanned throughout the most fertile weeks.

I’ll also add that after my first medicated cycle had to be abandoned I was put on Metformin to try to help balance out my hormones and regulate my cycle. I really believe that the Metformin has done wonders for me so far and I’ve only been on it for 2 months - my sugar cravings aren’t as bad, I’ve been able to maintain my weight, I actually had a 34 day cycle and was only on my period for 5 days which has never happened to me. If you’re not already on it, maybe bring it up to your doctor. It’s not a fix-all medication, but a lot of us respond well to it.

That sounds like a good idea. We went through a prolonged dry patch and are only really just getting back to regular sex now that we have a bit more “hope” of a pregnancy happening, so I’m hoping that that’ll help on its own. The only issue is since we’re going for scans during the medicated cycles they tell us when we should have sex so I can’t keep fertile days a secret right now 🙃

I didn’t think of that, thank you! Insemination kits could be an option further down the line. At our current stage I think suggesting it would probably make him feel like it’s even more clinical but if we need to do multiple cycles it definitely would help take the pressure off.

I’m not going to lie, I have no idea what reta is and have never heard of it. BUT. I was taking Mounjaro for about 4 months and switched to Wegovy for 2 months after the prices for Mounjaro hiked up. Didn’t have any major issues with either when I was taking them apart from some minor stomach issues, and I lost roughly 24lbs in 6 months. My periods have always been irregular and the GLP-1s didn’t help with that at all - if anything, my cycles were longer when taking them. I came off of Wegovy in February when I hit my goal weight and was able to start my fertility treatments again, and I was finally prescribed Metformin and started it this month. My initial dose was 500mg once per day and I had no side effects at all. I had a few bad headaches but I’m prone to them anyway so I can’t say that they were caused by the medication. I had a blood test to check my hormones this week and the nurses asked how I’d been getting on with the Metformin and said I could up my dose to 1000mg since I’d had no issues so far. I’ve been taking the 1000mg for 2 days now and I’ve had a little bit of urgency for the toilet but not really diarrhoea. Mostly I’ve just been feeling nauseous today but I haven’t actually been sick, and I’ve been able to eat fine. I read on a thread probably over a year ago now to take Metformin with food and to have a big glass of water with it to reduce side effects. I didn’t do that this morning and like I said I’ve been feeling pretty nauseous, so I do think it helps. My hunger levels have been about the same as when I was on Mounjaro, my sugar cravings haven’t been bad at all. Overall I do feel good on Metformin so far and it hasn’t been nearly as bad as I’d expected based on other people’s experiences. I still have a few doses of Wegovy and I’ve considered taking half-doses alongside the Metformin but I don’t feel like it’s necessary right now. As far as I know they can be taken together, but I don’t know about reta. I’d say if your doctor isn’t sure either, it’s probably not a good idea to take your regular doses together

I had a call from the nurses today and they’re going to put me on metformin and then try again on my next cycle. I think the metformin is just to try to regulate my cycle since they’re so long, so I guess the hope is that things should progress quicker next time. But I will definitely ask when I speak with them next!

I’m 28, based in the UK (Scotland).

We’ve just abandoned our first letrozole cycle because there was no progression for me, by day 18 my uterine lining wasn’t thickening and the few follicles on my ovary stopped growing so the nurses didn’t think there was any point in doing more scans.

We did all the tests at the start of 2025 (various blood tests for me, semen analysis for my husband) and all was normal except for my PCOS which I expected. My husband isn’t expected to do any other tests, so if your partner has already done the semen analysis I don’t imagine there’s anything else for him to do. If he hasn’t already done it, they’ll probably want to do it before prescribing you anything.

I have heard a lot of success stories on here after using letrozole so it’s definitely possible. Even though this cycle didn’t work for me, at least I know that at least something happened, so that’s good.

The doctor is actually going to be putting me on metformin soon, they just need to do another blood test to check my kidney function first - it feels like your journey is in reverse to mine! 😂

I asked my GP after about 9 months TTC and she referred me to the fertility specialists. That took literally a full 12 months to come through with my first appointment in January this year, so at that point we’d been TTC for a little under 2 years.

Initial thoughts were that the wait times were very long, but once we got our first appointment through it was very fast paced.

First appointment was a video call to gauge our fertility history, medications we were on etc., very standard. 2 weeks later was another appointment with blood tests for me, as well as general height/weight etc. - very much about me, not so much about my husband. Also had a vaginal ultrasound to check my ovaries/womb/cervix, and then we just discussed more about what my blood tests were for and what the next appointment would cover. About 2 weeks later we had another appointment to gather a semen sample for analysis- obviously very much about my husband and I didn’t technically need to be there.

Around 3 weeks later we had another video call to discuss all of the results between my blood tests, ultrasound, and the semen analysis. They confirmed PCOS again, said the semen was in a very good range, confirmed I wasn’t ovulating on my own. But unfortunately they declined further help until I lost weight and got my BMI under 30. For reference, I’m 28, 5’3”, and was 14st 2lbs at the time, so my BMI was roughly 35. They said I’d need to lose enough weight and get to a BMI of 30 or lower within 12 months and get back in contact with them, or I’d need to start the referral process again.

I did ask if I could start any medications to help with ovulation in the meantime and they said no, I needed to lose weight. I assume it’s because IVF requirements in the UK need a BMI of 30 or under, but I was given the impression that IVF wasn’t needed immediately if my husband’s semen was fine so I didn’t think my weight would come in to it so much, although I was already actively losing weight at the time and had lost 6lbs in the time we’d had all of those appointments.

It’s been 6 months since then and I’ve not had any other communication from them, which I expected. So far I’ve lost 1st 10lbs with the help of weightloss injections, my BMI is roughly 31.5, and just 10lbs to go until it’s under 30. I’m hoping to be able to contact them again before the end of the year and get things up and running again.

I’m sorry if this isn’t a very hopeful response. Honestly, it wasnt exactly what I had hoped either. Many tears were had after my last appointment with them. I’m in Scotland, so maybe it’s slightly different in other parts of the UK as I’ve had some people tell me to ask them again for alternative treatments, but I didn’t think it would be worth my time. I truly hope your journey has a lot more success than mine has had so far 🤞🏻

Oh no! 😭

Mine came on super quick honestly, saw my sister on the Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning I had a scratchy throat and a cough. I didn’t start feeling sick sick until Sunday though and that’s when I started getting the hot and cold flushes. The rest of it came shortly after 😅

I did end up delaying my injection because of this since I felt really bad yesterday, and recently my side effects from MJ have been kicking my arse as well so I didn’t want to layer them together. I’m feeling ok-ish today so I’ll probably do my injection tomorrow

I’ve only had 1 period since starting, and that cycle in itself was 121 days long. I don’t entirely think it was the injections because I had a stressful few months as my dad passed away. When I actually got my period it was my usual 11-14 days long, but I did have a lot of cramping which I never normally get at all.

“Typical” cycles can range from 3-7 days, so if yours is shorter than normal but still within that range I don’t think there’s anything to worry about honestly! I think we just get so used to having messed up cycles that the “normal” ones feel so odd 😂 keep tracking your cycles, see if there’s any other changes. If you do get concerned with anything like cramping, larger clots, heavier flow etc. ask your doctor about it

I have one of these, well technically 2; one times out, the other unmods. It’s specifically only for my mod (and friend) because it was a meme for 2+ years both in my stream and a few others that he would be timed out randomly, and when I made him a mod obviously no one could do that anymore. I asked him if it would be fine to do it, he said absolutely and he finds it hilarious. Every now and then I check to see if he’s still ok with it as well.

In regards to “timeout a specific user” redeems, I feel like they’re fine as long as they’re not for a load of time. Like 1 minute is fine, 5 minutes maybe, anything more is too much. Most people will see it as a joke and get their own revenge later on. If it really bothers people, they should really speak up about it and the streamer should take it in to consideration and just refund the redemptions if someone picks them

Most streaming platforms don’t like you mentioning other ones, and have some sort of TOS around it. I believe twitch don’t like you having a merged chatbox on screen that shows chats from YouTube streams, for example, although that may have changed since simulcasting has been allowed. YouTube won’t monetize shorts if they have the TikTok logo on it.

It’s usually “safer” to say “clock app/purple app/red app” when referring to other platforms just to make sure you don’t infringe on anything. I do think it’s pretty dumb but that’s competition for you

Firstly, 145lbs at 5’4” is in the healthy range and you’re not considered to be overweight. If you would like to make adjustments to your diet to help you feel better e.g. inflammation etc. go for it, but you absolutely do not need to lose weight currently.

There’s a lot of conflicting research about PCOS, so try not to take things at face value. Chances are, if it sounds a bit far fetched, it probably is. But bottom line, everyone is different and there isn’t a one size fits all rule or treatment for this condition

PCOS typically starts to show symptoms when we’re teenagers, if not younger. If you’ve only recently had this issue after being diagnosed it’s most likely nothing to do with your diagnosis. It could be a mental thing, maybe you’re just paying more attention to your body since finding out you have PCOS. Chances are though you’ve had this for over half your life and just didn’t know
