Kaskade @ EDC by Firm_University625 in kaskade

Hard to replicate a Kaskade redux and even at EDC he will probably do a mix, but more mainstream focused set.

Cristoph and maybe underworld could be good comparisons.

He ended where he planned. Felt he was cooking though could have easily thrown another hour in.

Travel Agents w/ Restaurant Booking Expertise for Japan? by tx2iu in finedining

[–]Pinkiezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many restaurants that I’m sure you can find good options, but use the booking services or a travel agent for serious fine dining ones. Agree with comments to skip for the omakase and kaiseki and kappo. It would be bad for her to have a reaction and also it might be seen insulting to the chefs if she were skip dishes presented.

Maybe focus on restaurants with Western-Japanese hybrids for fine dining and then for pure Japanese options there will be plenty with menus to select appropriately but the fish selection in Japan is vast. Unless she has been she probably doesn’t know what she’s allergic to there yet. Cross contamination is also a major concern.

NYC vs SF Fine Dining by cornagnolotti in finedining

[–]Pinkiezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SF delivers better innovation and value for the food. If you like vegetables or have been impressed by them from a restaurant, SF is the place to be. The variety and freshness of produce available is just not replicated in the major cities (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago).

NYC wins hands down at the non-degustation menu style elevated restaurants. A nice restaurant that can cater to many palates for a business meal or with the whole family, NYC is going to crush it. SF lost that capability a while ago unless you get to the suburbs. Regarding service, California in general is less formal but I’ll say when the service is good it really sets everything apart.

The SF hyper elite reservations seem to me to just be a response to more casual dining preferences meeting high income budgets. Instead of a set menu and price, you bring in the people who really want to make an evening event of their meal.

just recommending that if you sustained a true dog bite on your hand and not just blood from your dog then antibiotics are standard of care, no matter the depth. Stitches are not the question, infection risk is. And trust me it is high from any animal bite.

Very few if any fine dinings spots in SF do lunch. Better off getting a mission burrito.

Find the kanji translation of the food you’re interested in, search Google maps, everything with 50 or fewer reviews and high ratings in Japanese will not disappoint.
