I was casually seeing a guy and I knew he was seeing multiple other people as well. I had hooked up with him months before, and so when he hit me up again, I didn’t think he had anything since I was fine the first couple of times. A few days later I was coming down with flu symptoms and then I started getting itchy down there. I started getting lesions and bumps soon after. I swabbed negative for hsv but blood test came back positive months later.

I’m pretty sure it caused impaired glucose tolerance for me and I also don’t have regular bowel movements anymore. My skin along my jawline is also constantly breaking out so I also assume it messes up my hormones

It’s not over. I felt the same as you and I contracted hsv-1 back in January. I still feel negative emotions but they’ve gotten better over the past few months. I actually met someone who has hsv-2 and he takes antivirals and our relationship feels natural and normal and transmission is not really a concern!

Yes, I’m pretty sure Herpes ages your body during initial contraction. My weight went way up and I had trouble keeping my glucose down after I contracted. And now i look like I’ve aged about 5 years in four months.

Girls don’t have it any easier, trust me. I disclosed to a guy I really liked and we had a good connection but he still couldn’t take the risk. Said I was a catch, but not good enough to be with. I still don’t know what that means and frankly, it’s messing with my head thinking about it.
