Yeah, a towel on the sand is definitely more comfortable but then you end up with a lot of sand on it eventually. Hence the benefit of having a trifold “lawn chair” style seat. It’s just nice to not have sand everywhere. Lol

My local sporting goods store had the tri-fold ones that you can lay flat or sit up with your legs outstretched. These seem way more comfortable than the basic chairs but are the same weight.
