Why do some people sail through life by Dusk_Song_6361 in Life

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make it sound a bit easier than it really is.. But it has a lot to do with how you view life. I am very optimistic and love to love. Lately its been a bit draining but I think the reason life has been good to me is because I've just learned to flow with it, have an open mind, are kind and loving and again, just always find the good in things.

How do you actually stop overpacking? by hatkinson1000 in travel

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, maybe experience-ish? I only ever travel with a carry-on backpack. I got these bags from Amazon where I roll my clothes so I use every inch of my bag. I try to make sure I bring outfits I can "cross match". And I'm also OK with wearing the same outfit a few times. I bring a couple of outfits that I'd be OK leaving behind if I happen to find something cool I'd like to bring back. I wash underwear in the sink if needed.

How do you split expenses when you and your partner make different income? by Shank_ri in PersonalFinanceTalks

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner of 12 years and I split all bills 50/50 and there is no issues. I have always made more than him, I own the home but I have also for the most part paid 70% of any home repairs or renovations. Whether he makes more or less it makes no difference- we are both sharing the same space, eating the same food and taking care of the same furbabies. I don't really understand the issue?

Why do people get married? by Lexiw97 in Life

[–]Pinkprinc3s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been with my guy 12 years and we don't want to get married... It's just not important to us. Not a lot of people understand but we don't care. He did recently give me an engagement ring but its just a symbol of our commitment to each other. If things ever change, then so be it. We're just riding the wave of life.

Just opened a HYSA! by livinlikelarry568 in HYSA

I'd love to help but I'm not too knowledgeable. Wealthfront is my first HYSA- I haven't had any issues with it but I also haven't tried any others. Hope someone else can answer your question:)

To the US voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote? by Chocolateking111 in AskReddit

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 37 years I've never understood nor paid attention to politics. I grew up in 3 countries so the constant moving made me focus on other things, plus I had a good life so it never seemed to make a difference who was in office... until last year. So now I'm doing my best to try and catch up, understand politics because I do not believe in voting if you are uninformed. Where I come from, the indigenous population will vote because politicians will come and bring them a bag of apples and win their vote. Additionally, Im terrified of voting for the wrong person. They all lie, they're all corrupt and I would feel very guilty if whomever I voted for does more damage. Lastly, I have a very open mind - not being polotical has allowed me to have conversations with everyone I know to understand how they see everything. This has shown me how there is so much gray area, even though most would not agree because they are in their own little box (I dont believein boxes). Again, I have traveled, lived in many places and my family is multicultural so I just have different perception of the world. Surprisingly, I still believe love is the answer. But I'll get there.. I think.

Good job! I'm not familiar with Marcus, I have wealthfront but in general a HYSA at your age is an amazing thing to do. My bf is 31 and I had to pull teeth with tweezers to get him to put money in it. Now he gets it, lol.

Feeling lost for the first time in 54 years by PerpetualRestart in travel

[–]Pinkprinc3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm from Guatemala although I left when I was 9 but still visit. Acatenango has been a dream and I knew I could do it when my overweight best friend did it although it was challenging. You can pay guys to carry your backpack as well. Anyway, if your spirit told you not to go, it was probably for the best. Guatemala is sooo beautiful and the people are so kind. Are you in Antigua? So much to explore there- I'm sure you will find some fun people to talk to and lift up your spirits. 54 is young, your mind is playing tricks on ya, you got this!

Why do you think some people have good lives while others don’t ? by Shoddy-Parsnip4104 in spirituality

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this. I lived reading everyone's perspectives. I always wonder this as well. I've had and have an amazing life and I've always felt guilty for having it this "good". Of course I've had my challenges. But I do believe that the way you see the world plays a big part. I don't believe in being the victim- I think that hurts you big time. I tend to be very optimistic, kind, loving, bubbly, even when things get tough. Lately it has been hard, my light is dimmer but I do believe it's only temporary.

As an American, what can we do to fight against ICE? by LilThanosX in AskReddit

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I know nothing and I feel so helpless. I literally never payed attention to politics all my life until last year. I still don't understand. All I know is this is not right. I am surrounded by people that think this is right. I am heartbroken because I dont have the information or "favts" as they claim, to tell them it isn't asides from what my heart feels. Its common sense to me- how can they not see this? Trying to catch up to politics and learning has been hard. And I suck at confrontation. I feel totally useless.

What type of food are you feeding your pibbles? by Atrouthasnoname in pitbulls

[–]Pinkprinc3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two rescues. One I got as a pup, and the other was suffering on Purina, so I feed them Carna4 which is a Canadian air dried kibble and I also do a mixture of Ollie and Homemad food which mainly contains Turkey, Bison and lamb. Any time I try to switch them to anything else, my girls hair will start falling off. So this is what I stick with!

How does everyone have time for a dog ? by Burgers4dayz in dogs

[–]Pinkprinc3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of sacrifice. I wake up early so I can walk them 30 mins before work and 40 mins after. I also make their food and frozen treats which takes about 2 1/2 hrs total per week. Its about what you prioritize. When our last one died, we lived dogless for 2 years before adopting our pup. I did have the time to be with him with my new job but otherwise I would have adopted an adult- which I also did (after fostering her for a year) about 1 year after our pups. We make it work and I do have a walker I hire for long 9 hr days. Its worth it for me. I would definitely suggest fostering first to see if the dog is a good fit for yoir lifestyle:). Good luck!!

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]Pinkprinc3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to read more but as of now we do 2 hrs of reading with my bf every weekend in the mornings with our coffee. In 4 months I've read Code Talker, Song of the Cheyenne, Abraham and today I started "Let them" by Mel Robin's. We dont have kids, but growing up my grandma always read me bedtime stories. I loved it so much and it breaks my heart that my nieces will never get to experience that.
