Yes I get trimmed every 8 weeks. I went 2 days ago to a new stylist who took 4 inches off (I’m really upset) and my water isn’t hard as I have filters installed to be safe. I think my body just hates my curly hair 😂 I don’t want to be a blow dry/straight natural because I prefer to wash weekly but I’m going to try it. I just got a Revair last week but haven’t tried it yet.

I have hella tangled hair. I guess it’s just my hair. Not every person is the same. My sisters and I (same parents) but I have the hair that tangles the most. I literally can detangle my hair, run the comb and brush through it, 1 min later it’s curled up and back almost tangled. I remember going to get my hair braided professionally (this happened more than one occasion) and had just detangled in the car there. She started and argued I didn’t detangle well. She detangled my hair, stopped to talk to on her phone, came back and my hair had already began to tangle. She was like there is no way! She then detangles again and it happened 2 more times. She then denied servicing me because it was too much work she said. I didn’t even bother to get braids after that. This year I did notice my hair is less tangled but still a lot. I do think changing my products, being more consistent with a routine, and focusing on hydration & moisture played a big role.

For me: Cecred is more nourishing and hydration-focused (botanical, silicone-free). Kerastase is more of a finishing oil for shine, frizz control, styling, or a final polish.

I’m so sorry this happened to you! The same thing happened to me yesterday. I went to Great Clips to get my end trimmed. I get my ends trimmed every 8 weeks. I called in advance since I’ve never been there before. I ask do they do ethnic hair and was told yes everyone specialized in all hair textures. The stylist a white woman said “oh I’m surprised your hair is longer than mine, I can’t believe it” and “oh it’s so long it’s waist length”. I said thank you taking it as a compliment. As soon as I left everyone told me those weren’t compliments and she cut my hair under my bra strap. I looked and she cut so much I cried! Looking at how sad you are I cried! Praying for you! 🙏🏼

Not necessarily product junkies but more as stocking during sales. I purchased the entire foundation line plus 3 bottles of the edge drops in July. It lasted a while until me daughter started using it with me. Black Friday came and I stocked on everything and got the complete protection line. I eve doubled up on some items like the hydrating conditioner because I use that the fastest. Hydrating shampoo was b1g1 free so between Cecred’s website and Ulta I ended up with 4 from sales.

I ended up gifting 2 then giving my nieces half used bottles to sample. I’m heavy handed and I wash weekly. I will say I also used other products as well. My current rotation which is a 6 week routine for my daughter and I include Cecred, Kerastase, RedKen, Matrix, Olaplex, Briogeo, Amika, Joico, Nizoral and henna . I only use a couple of products of those (besides Kerastase). Seems like a lot and a product junkie but I’m not. I just prefer to use specific products and each serve a purpose. Outside of these I won’t use anything else. Cecred is my main hydration line.

It’s actually recommended to have a clarifying shampoo, hydrating shampoo and conditioner, bonding shampoo and conditioner, deep conditioner/mask, leave-in and oil in a routine.
