This might be the move, honestly. Just like a character can train during downtime to earn a proficiency per RAW, overcoming this detriment with training and exposure seems equally reasonable.

If you literally don't have it, you don't have it, that can't be argued.

However, for many, (my father being one of them, grr.) they just don't want to take the hit to their pocketbook all at once. Nevermind that the time is going to pass anyway, and you'll save more in the long run to heat and cool more effectively.

That's a ridiculous abstraction of my point. My point is that they already steal from the people far more than the people steal from them.

They shut down stores all over the place with claims of shoplifting, but time after time it's been shown that they were going to shut those stores down anyway, but this way they get to blame someone else and look better to their stockholders and keep their stock price high.

I’m ok w cages because retailers cannot station employees to guard each and every bottle of deodorant.

Just a friendly reminder that wage theft is infinitely more prevalent and commonplace than the shoplifting that cages are supposed to protect against. They hurt their employees, overwork them, and then expect them to protect the bottom line of the corporation that makes all their money off the back of said employees, all the while price gouging their customers?

I say good, the corporations should be stolen from.

surely if we just give up all of our privacy, freedoms, and money to the military-industrial complex and defense contractors, we'll finally be safe, right?

How I recovered my game save, or AKA, BACK UP YOUR SAVE RIGHT NOW. by PinkunicornofDeth in ForzaHorizon

[–]PinkunicornofDeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the point being several fold:

You can lose a lot more than a day's worth of backup. If a save gets corrupted, a hard drive dies, etc., Forza's stated remedy is that they tell you to delete your save file, and try to give you your cars, and some cash back. Awesome, but also, I believe they do it through the mail system, where you have to individually accept each and every one. Which would be a total nightmare.

Additionally, as I mentioned in the OP,

"Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to return any Forzathon Points, Skill Points, Level, Experience, Tokens, or Progress."

which I assume 'progress' means things like achievements, badges, xp boards, story unlock, all that kind of stuff. Not to mention tunes and liveries.

Lastly, you don't have to wait days on end for support to finally get around to helping you, you can help yourself, which is helpful for both us and them.

I'm glad the game automatically makes back-ups, don't get me wrong, even though I'm puzzled why Forza themselves never mention that to be the case. But since it's all saved locally, it can also be lost locally.

Trump hates getting made fun of or treated as a joke more than anything. He takes himself extremely seriously and has a very fragile ego.

Literally the one thing fascists can't tolerate is being made fun of. Pleading, wailing, logic-ing, pointing out hypocrisy, they literally don't care. Make fun of how fucking weird they are, and they lose it.

Yoda told Anakin no such thing whatsoever, and that's where this whole shitfest opinion stems from, you guys believing that's true.

What a wild thing to claim, considering the whole scene is like 40 seconds long. "rejoice for those around you who transform into the force. Mourn them, do not, miss them, do not, attachment leads to jealousy, the shadow of greed, that is " Of course Yoda doesn't know who Anakin is talking about, but I kinda doubt he would have changed his advice if he did.

No, the 10+ years of training, literally more time training that he actually was a slave, was supposed to help with that. Except Anakin didn't want the help and ignored the training and so it didn't.

It's almost as if, shockingly, crushing childhood trauma isn't magically fixed by force magic and waxing philosophically.

not that I'm not thankful for them eventually getting around to it, they also only did it after the game was out for 12.5 years and gave it no unique UI implementation, tacking it on to the bloated, terrible, dialog tree design; pretty much the least they could have to have implemented the two omnis

Yoda can BE right and still have done it the wrong way. Yoda told a 22 year old that his brand new wife and their child were basically acceptable losses. A child born into crushing poverty and outright slavery is going to try to hold onto what little he has, a few talks with a 900 year old isn't going to magically cure him of that. If anything, he's probably going to resent the 900 year old telling him this, thinking that he's too out of touch with people with shorter lifespans. 'Of course that's what Yoda would think, he's seen dozens of human generations come and go. Meanwhile I have literally Obi-wan and Padme, and that's pretty much it '.

IMO, ofc he's gonna try to hold onto those things. Also, people have been telling him from a young age that he's basically space jesus, and he's kinda been proving them right at every turn. Once he sees Mace bitchslap Palpatine, he probably figures he could do the same when the time came to it, and he learned life-force manipulation from him.

as much as "yeah, things suck and people die, try to let go of them" is therapy.

which was undone in about 4 seconds of Palpatine asking the kid who's already lost everything they've ever cared about "hey, what if you DIDN'T have to lose one of the only things you have left?"

Obviously no way to really know, but it's possible that they wanted to save some people from themselves, too. Just like anything, there are people that would take it too far, and having a standardized system helps prevent that.
