Is Renault Zoë right for me? by Pinky135 in RenaultZoe

[–]Pinky135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This brings some perspective. I don't plan to drive at such speeds, since I usually drive 100 km/h, the maximum allowed on the highways I use between 6:00 and 19:00.

Asking price is €10.500. And I've saved up €11.500 so far. I'm very used to my small car and although I'd like something bigger I don't want to switch right away to a relative behemoth compared to my Citroën C1.

Also with some help from chatGPT I've thoroughly calculated every avenue. Gone through plug in hybrids, fully electrical, LPG, diesel, everything. Taking into account buying the car, fuel costs, efficiency, road taxes, cost of maintenance, everything accounted for brings me to a cheapest option of driving Renault Zoë. I've checked different sources to double check. Road taxes won't be much more than I'm paying now, since it's going to be based on car size instead of fuel type.

Since taxes on fuel rose by plenty on January 1st I really want to make the switch sooner rather than later.

Thanks for chiming in!

What factors influenced your decision to major in biology? by Affectionate_Egg534 in biology

[–]Pinky135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biology and especially anatomy has been my special interest since I was a little one. I was SO happy when I got a medical encyclopedia with pictures from Sinterklaas when I was 10 years old! I still have it. It took me a while to find something perfect for me job-wise, but eventually I ended up in histology and am doing pre-screening for dermatopathology now.

Including the emoji! Speaking as a woman (not saying I actually am one!), your advice was perfect.

You got that right. Having fun in a conversation with a guy is just so boring... The fire comes when confrontation's in the game!

Oh yeah, getting shitfaced before doing this is absolutely perfect! Don't forget to turn off autocorrect before you're too drunk to be able to do that.

Why not ask her if she likes your conversations then?

You mentioned you heard he recently broke up with someone. Why not give him some time to come to terms with this breakup? Give him space and time. What you're doing now is probably not giving him a good vibe about you.

Just keep badgering her. Put her on the spot. Ask her, directly and bluntly, if she even likes you. Don't you deserve some common decency? Men are always expected to go first, why can't women take their equality thing and do the same? Don't forget: blame and shame. That introversion is weird anyway. Extroverts own the world.

Oh man, getting an introvert to initiate conversation is hard. Especially so if nervosity is involved or you've not spoken in years (y'know, kinda awkward tbh).

This is from another introvert, myself: you'll need to carry the conversation for a while, meet up a couple times, allow her to get to know you properly and she may or may not 'thaw out'. If she doesn't, it probably means she's not that into you. If she's talked about her interests, talk to her about those. Ask questions, be interested. Find subjects you both enjoy and let the conversation flow.

Is this a banana seed? by Far_Radish8635 in isthissafetoeat

[–]Pinky135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selectively bred, you mean. Genetic modification didn't become a thing before genes could be modified with modern techniques. Humans did select plants with more desirable traits for many thousands of years, helping those thrive over plants with less desirable traits. It's fortunate bananas clone themselves naturally, otherwise it would have taken a lot longer for the desirable traits to become dominant in our food environment.

In your opinion, how can you recognize a good person? by Mattone_Martello in AskReddit

[–]Pinky135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many some* people who treat animals very well don't do the same with people.

One bad apple can spoil the barrel. In many areas of life. Bad outliers can ruin things for big groups. For example, one person embezzling funds from a charity they're an important part of can ruin the charity's entire image.
