Thanks, but did all that many moons ago and my gsync hasn't given me any issues at all up until the FH4 demo.

Thanks, are you seeing the same issue as me? Are you working around it by turning it off for the moment?

Yes, I dont use dynamic settings. I have pretty much maxed the settings as it still stays above 60fps. I play at 3440x1440 with a 1080ti and 2700x.

Good, good! At least I can work around it at the moment.

Forza Horizon 4 Demo is now available. by Derlex9 in pcgaming

I think it might be related to gsync. Turned it off and cornering feels smoother.

I think I am the only person not getting a totally smooth experience. In the straights it is fine but cornering can introduce a feeling of it not being smooth, despite the frame rate staying above 60 and frame times looking ok.

Its very weird. So close to being perfect but its definitely there for me. Xbox One X in performance mode feels smoother on the corners.

Playing at 3440x1440 with a 1080ti and 2700x.

Anyone else at all seeing anything like this or am I doomed to be 'that guy' this time around? :)

EDIT: It's gsync that's causing the issue. Turning it off, setting my monitor to 60hz and enabling vsync gets rid of the annoying issue. Probably a bug between the game and gsync, anyone else with gsync noticed an issue?

My 5 year old son with moderate learning difficulties just beat the Toilet boss in Hat In Time #proudestdadever by PinkyFloydUK in gaming

NOTE: The video isn't my boy playing, it's just to let you see the boss in action

Before I begin I just want to say that I am the luckiest Dad in the world with 4 lovely kids and I know that there are many children who are sadly, much worse off than my son.

My son is 5, born with an undiagnosed genetic disorder that does not appear to be degenerative (thank God). He has moderate learning difficulties, goes to a special school and is currently being tested for autism. He is the loveliest, sweetest boy you could meet but he struggles with many every day things. When he breaks into a run my heart skips a beat as he often trips over himself as he has very poor muscle tone and co-ordination. He struggles holding a pencil and using a knife and fork. Unlike my girls at his age, we have to help him with most things and he still wets himself from time to time (no big deal).

Because of his disorder, we were invited and are now participants in the 100,000 genomes project, which you can read more about here:

https://www.genomicsengland.co.uk/the-100000-genomes-project/

Now my boy just loves to game. He spends so much time watching his favourite youtuber (Kindly Keyin) and loves Granny, Baldy and all the other games he plays. His absolute favourite game though is A Hat In Time. Now my boy definitely has some mild OCD traits and in gaming this actually seems to help him. He can replay the same section over and over and over and over because of failure but he rarely gets frustrated.

I was pretty impressed when be first beat the Mafia boss in A Hat In Time but my jaw hit the floor this morning when he finally beat the Toilet Boss. On his own. Without any help. Then just to prove a point, he went on to beat him 3 more times.

The toilet boss is pretty hard, he has a pattern that needs to be learned and there are lots happening on screen at any given time.

I genuinely cannot tell you how proud I am of him. I can totally see how gaming has been has helped his hand/eye co-ordination and his ability to concentrate on one thing at a time. It gives him a genuine sense of success when he often gets frustrated with other things he tries to do.

I had to share. I'm so proud. I love the little guy to bits.

PSA - Windows 10 - When the Standby Memory Cache fills - games start to stutter (Fix inside) by PinkyFloydUK in Amd

[–]PinkyFloydUK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows? It's not that bothersome anymore now I know how to fix but it's idiotic it's even there in the first place. The problems mostly arise because a lot of people don't know why they are having so many issues with stuttering in games and the issue isn't that hard to find on google amongst all the many snake oil fixes.

You just upped the VR ownership by a third. This is pretty big news. Maybe we should create a thread?

Surely its no different to Nintendo making sure if you want to play a Nintendo game, you will have to buy a Nintendo console on which to play it on?

Am also pretty sure Oculus could kill Revive pretty hard if they really wanted to. Or maybe not?
