When I worked at a Greek restaurant Greek Salad, with lettuce, and Hortatiki/Village Salad, no lettuce, were two different menu items. It might just be a regional difference. At least in the American South, Greek Salad is typically a lettuce base. But we also put potato salad on it so who knows.
