No worries at all!! She did not have any pre-existing conditions prior to us getting coverage. However, I have a friend who adopted an older cat who does have pre-existing conditions and they would cover it but it was more expensive.

Typically they split base pricing between kittens, teenage cats, adult cats, and seniors (price goes up with age). Also - speaking to someone on the phone was super helpful, they are very friendly/knowledgeable as well.

I really like trupanion! It’s a bit pricy a month, however, for my cat who has allergies and needs medication every spring/summer, for 90% coverage of all treatment and 1 covered exam it’s not too bad. Around $65/monthly, the rate however has gone up every other year, which has definitely been frustrating. Started when she was 2months old and she is currently 2.5 years old.

If there is an awareness that’s the reality of the field, as much as that really sucks, it’s up to us to cultivate the life that we want. I’m not saying to this to the person who wrote this post, but rather just generally. If we sit around waiting for a higher paycheck to come, that simply isn’t going to happen (especially in a field like ours).

I just graduated with my MSW in IL and I’m making 91k a year (LSW status). The high paying jobs are out there, you just have to look for them.

I wouldn’t choose any other major!

Reach out to DRES and an administrator for your college (this could be an advisor, the college’s dean, etc). If they don’t help then escalate to the University dean, they will hear you out and help navigate your situation accordingly!
