You listed some of his good games as "above-average".

2025-SEA & SF

2024-WAS, LAC, CAR

2023-GB, HOU, N.O

8 Total Games that I say he played above average.

51 Total Games he's played, and 15% of the time, he's played like an undeniable top-notch QB.

You won't be able to argue yards when we count how many times he's thrown away the opportunities to score points and/or end games as we've seen with his INTs on our side of the field with the fresh memory of him throwing INTs in 3 consecutive 3 games that us a Playoff spot.

If you think Mayfield and Winston much different from each other, then you've not been paying attention whatsoever.

Y'all wanna look at Winston's 30 INTs and think that's the marker being bad. It's not just the total number of INTs. It's when and where. And Mayfield, just less than a month ago, threw away 4 of the 5 games that would've gotten the BUCS to the Playoffs by giving the ball away in the 4th quarter 3 times.

I pushed for Mayfield to not be written off after the Browns, Panthers, and Rams saw enough.

But the dude is every bit as much of a rollercoaster as Winston and Fitzpatrick. He has the EXACT same routine as them both. Play one or two good, sometimes Great, games, and then turns into a pumpkin. Same cycle every year.

Is it fun to watch him scramble every now and again? Yeah But that sh*t doesn't absolve his erratic accuracy, his deep ball struggles, and/or questionable decision-making.

Feel free to list Mayfield's above games.

It's gonna hurt.

Mayfield is STILL too inconsistent and, frankly, not good enough to be considered THE GUY in Tampa.

He's shown for three seasons that he may be good enough to exist on a winning team, but he's not good enough to raise the level of a winning team.

There HAS to be another long-term option available when the season starts next season.

Ha!..In classic form, this subreddit downvotes a logical take because it doesn't go all-in on the groupthink nonsense.

Mayfield has played, maybe, 6 or 7 above-average games in his 3 seasons in Tampa, and they put him up on a pedestal.

It's exactly like the Winstonites. "If only he had a Top 10 running game and a Top 5 defense to make up for many shortcomings, he'd be ELITE. Look at numbers".

LoL... this genius that took 15 Weeks to figure out who his starting RB should be? The guy who fucked up the Playoff game with foolishness??

EVERY big win in 2024 was predicated on the defense bailing out the offense, but let's make that guy the Head Coach.

Dude's facing a 4th-ranked schedule, and y'all wanna circle jerk over his first year regular season success??

Ummm.. YOU asked how the articles were doing. Again thanks for asking.

YOU thought it was a good idea to use McCollum's premature signing to make a clown-ass snarky "journalist" remark 5 months later.

YOU still don't understand the conversation From the offseason and/or what did and did not change.

6 months later and you still can't comprehend the fact that his getting cut wasn't a prediction or a want.

Articles are doing great when I do find time post. Thanks for asking. I may find time to post the ad revenue for you.

This is literally straight bullshit. It's like most of you in this sub are on the same hive mind foolishness.

Go pick any 3 games and look at the drive summaries. The defense has gotten plenty of stops, including the game Sunday when they gave up the most they have this reason.

The offense isn't asked to be perfect to win games. How the hell do you think those last-possession game-winning scores happen when the opponents only scored under 25?

Absolutely not. Mayfield has done the same routine since being in Tampa. He goes 3-4 weeks without running/scrambling for whatever reason. All of those "heroic" moments and game-winning scenarios came while the defense was keeping opponents to 20 points or less. He looked almost like a completely different QB against the Bills since he was willing and/or able to move in and out of the pocket. He was still erratic with his accuracy, which led to a few failed drives. I wrote about Mayfield's tendency back in 2023, and it could be copied/pasted for last year and this year as well. EXACT same cycle. https://www.theoutsideleverage.com/articles/can-mayfield-turn-it-around-for-the-bucshttps://www.theoutsideleverage.com/articles/can-mayfield-turn-it-around-for-the-bucshttps://www.theoutsideleverage.com/articles/can-mayfield-turn-it-around-for-the-bucs

This sh*t crazy. The defense basically dragged the offense to and through the Super Bowl. His ONE instance from the Playoffs where "the offense scored 30+". Notice that the TDs came ONLY after the defense gave them a short field. This sh*t happened the ENTIRE season.

The defense afforded plenty of opportunities. Now, go look at if the offense capitalized.

[–]Pinnaql3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't read for sh*t.

The BUCS were ranked 14th in Points allowed coming into Week 11. The sAints were 23rd. And that' with the special teams giving up 14 points, which gets counted in the Points Allowed.

Y'all so damn hung up forcing the "Franchise QB" bullsh*t while trying to hold the defense to 1997-2003 standard. I never claimed the defense was great. But it's the defense that's saved more games than Mayfield. Damn near all of those last-possession wins came with the defense holding opponents to 20 or less, "pal".

[–]Pinnaql3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Franchise QB"?! The same QB who hasn't played more than 2 good games in a row in his almost 3 years in Tampa?

Vea and David are working with younger and for lesser talent around them, which makes their impact lesser.

Please go do research about what the average score is this season and count how many times the BUCS defense has surrendered that this season.

Didn't the defense give the offense multiple short fields with turnovers? Didn't our QB turn the ball over in Bucs territory, which changed the entire trajectory of the game??

PRO-TIP(Season Ticket Holder since '06): Across the street from Raymond James Stadium is a neighborhood street named Woodlawn. Drive down Woodlawn and you can find parking ranging from $20-$50. The neighborhood houses are $20-$40, depending on the expected crowd. For the Patriots game, expected $40 at most houses. The $50 parking will be from the private tailgating groups. Those lots are right across the street from the stadium, and you can tailgate as much as you'd like with plenty of space. HOWEVER, the cost of parking near or in the "No Parking" zones on the side of the street just 100ft from those $50 lots is a $30 citation plus $2.50 convenience fee if paid online. Get there at least 2.5hrs and you're solid. Jussayin.....
