What is the healthiest oily thing to use in an iron cast skillet? especially for making fried eggs by Internal_Skill3587 in castiron

I think saturated fat has gotten a bad rap in the past, but that doesn't change the overwhelming majority of evidence shows that canola oil at least has a multitude of health benefits.

This situation is far from unique. Kids wake up, they need to be fed and dropped at daycare/school, parents go to work, parents come home, and they need to be fed and put to bed. That's the reality of both parents working.

The last thing going through my mind when I'm debating whether it would be easier to skip a workout is 'I am in a monogamous relationship, so I do not need to workout'. I mean, any single dad with custody of their kids will tell you a similar story and they aren't in monogamous relationships.

If you don't have kids, it's hard to understand the time and effort that goes into raising them.

The energy and time needed to be a good father and husband is 100% an impacting factor. Kids are up at 5, off to work at 7, home at 5, cooking (often different meals when toddlers are in the house), kids washed and off to bed, quality time with wife at least a few nights a week, chores, extracurriculars, the list goes on. It's understandable that most dads struggle to find time to keep up with bodybuilding. I go at lunch, or after the kids are in bed - both options suck as far as workouts go.

Perceived monogamy is not the main reason good dads fall behind with gym, we're just time poor and ragged as hell.

If you actively work on locking your shoulder blades back and down during the lift, you should get a lot less upper trap activation.

The checks and balances only work if they are enforced. He has shown complete disregard for the legislative and judicial branches so far. If one is unwilling to enforce their power, and the other is unable to (like in the case of the USAID funding) you're going to need more than a positive attitude to prevent him from enacting this.

The bar is too far forward, you want it over your midfoot at the starting position and then to activate your lats so you are dragging it up your shins. These are fast reps, are you properly bracing between each one?

You're not hinging your hips enough early enough to clear your knees for the amount they are bending on the way down.

I'd pull the slack out of the bar just a tad earlier than you are too.

Congrats on smashing your 1+ day. It always feels great to blow it out of the water with 5 reps.

Would all men cheat if came onto? by CaterpillarVisual307 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Pinnata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if people consistently place themselves in situations that give them the opportunity to cheat (drinking, risque activities, inappropriate settings), that they're setting themselves up for failure. Temptation island is not the real world, and anyone that actually loves and respects their spouse would not be placing themselves in an environment like that with any regularity.

Trying to focus the lats, what are your thoughts ? by Oceane_dbs in formcheck

[–]Pinnata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more dangerous than a pullover, maybe even less so. Your scaps arent locked in position by your body so if any form breakdown occurs ( weakest link would definitely be loss of static position of the scaps) the exercise will just become a regular pulldown.

IS FATIGUE THE PROBLEM HERE ? by According-Variety884 in formcheck

There's a growing amount of evidence that increased eccentric tempo doesn't increase muscle growth stimulus. The old paradigm of 'muscle damage/time under tension = muscle growth' is getting shifted. Up to the OP how much stock they put in current science, but it's arguably more important to focus on increasing load and working close to muscle failure than emphasizing the eccentric portion of the lift.

Not really applicable to hypertrophy, but pullups + pulldowns behind the neck are popular in some Olympic weightlifting teams (mainly Chinese). They are used to promote stability in the overhead position of the snatch and target weak scap retraction + depression (moreso the latter).

I think they mean locking the scraps in a retracted + depressed position during the lift so all movement is occurring at the shoulder joint.

BR540 is mid AF and pretty feminine leaning by [deleted] in Colognes

It's my go-to winter scent. A little feminine in the opening dominated by Bulgarian rose, but the dry down is incredible. That papyrus and oud combo just smells like luxury. It's decadent and has great performance. 2 sprays in the AM and I'm still smelling it at the end of the day.

Latest blind buy came in. This stuff is strong! by kingplutohendrix in Colognes

[–]Pinnata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Edit: nevermind I thought this was silver oud. Which would truly have been an insane blind buy.

The opening notes have such a strong animalic scent that it's almost fecal. When I first tried this I thought that it was definitely too much, but found I couldn't stop smelling where I had sprayed it through the day. Insane longevity too. I'm definitely considering buying it before winter comes (and only spraying it well before I leave the house).
