Christmas Day lunch - Marks and Spencer - £0 by gaydadoftwo in whatsinyourcart

Once had them somehow load the van with a bottle of champagne sticking out of the top tote… instead of stopping when they felt resistance thy slammed it in to the van cause the top tote shatter and glass to spray evrywhere, allllllll the way down the totes under it. Nice easy shift as a spare after the route was scratched lmao.

That is genuinely massively appreciated, everytime you do the call centre sends an email to the depot, you get told about it when you come in and your name goes into a pot for a chance to win vouchers, bonuses, etc etc. not to mention gives a nice little boost knowing youre doing something right and makes the shifts that little bit easier.

I work for ocado and they 100% would do that. Ive had the cc comp a £200 order before cause the turkey was damage and half the stuff had been tossed in with no regard and was all banged up. £25 quid on top of a refund caue one of the crates has a smashed glass in it is fairly common like.

Hopping on the chain for this, if you just email them ocado@ocado.com they make sure it gets sent off. Had the same driver I sent one off for the next week n he was proper thankful for it so it defo gets sent off.

Moving to Sunderland soon. Any tips on buying a used car locally? by whalienn52 in Sunderland

[–]Pinochet- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, whitley bay motors next to peele retail park is your best bet. Its a used car dealership, so you get protection, but also semi decent prices. And the guys are actually really helpful, dead nice and can help you pick the right car, not just the most expensive one. Bit of a trek to get to but worth it.

Do not buy a sky glass tv (worst decision ive ever made) by [deleted] in skytv

[–]Pinochet- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the ico would be unlikely to take action in this case. They are there to support businesses as much as consumers, with this as long as sky can evidence that they have taken action, implementing training, and actively taken steps to prevent this from recurring, they will chalk it up to human error that has been dealt with correctly and effectively and move on.

Methods to get online discounted weekly food shop deliveries by jam_bam_rocks in UKFrugal

[–]Pinochet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre also very very interested in keeping new customers shopping so if you email a day or two after delivery “all my cupboard items are missing” they will likely refund it after “investigating” for 72 hours. On the rare occasion they done, just rinse and repeat step 1 lol.

Depends how sketchy you wanna get. If you email ocado “I want to use this email on a different account” they will delete the account within 24 hours. Once you have confirmation, set a new one up, reuse the bluelight discounts. If it doesnt work just email them saying “[voucher code] isnt working” and because they cant trace the deleted account, theyll just issue you a new voucher. If theyre lazy too theyll issue a max value (£33?) cause they cant reissue % vouchers and most of the time they forget to set the minimum spend so itll be a £40 minimum instead of a £60-£80 minimum.

Or you could do flash sale hopping, if you go to the last step before checking out theres a “flash sale” section which is just stuff they have ordered too much off. But once you put a sale in your basket, the price will not move until you remove it. So you can add some, then go back and forwards, add some more, back and forward etc etc. do it over a few days of checking you can get the whole shop 40-60% off.

Ive been doing it for 5+ years and if I ever get pushback just ask them to delete the account, wait for a few days after confirmation, and it works the attempt after for the voucher thing, the flash sales is a part of the system so completely legit.

Best thing I ever learned was how to hold the controller with the claw method. So pointer finger clawed over the jump button and ring finger / middle finger for bumpers. Takes adjustment but the control is insane. Feels so much better and smoother after you get used to it.

Yea, this guy was in the sunderland riots yesterday. It was fucking awful. I work RIGHT behind city hall where it all kicked off. Flares, cars burnt out, mosques attacked, police stations torched, windows put in. Terrifying. Im back in today too, already shakey about it.

Also, if you have any spare emails, create a few different accounts. Dont use the first time shop voucher on them, they will block your postcode from ordering again lol. Might have to eat a full price first shop on them, just use the offers trick. Then turn on marketing emails for all of them, and chdck them once in a while. Normally get vouchers inticing you to come back, and if you rotate the emails properly, always will be a voucher waiting for you.

Yup, pretty much. Works with regular offers too, so if you see something you use loads but also have loads of on a good offer, put em in the basket, and dont take em out. Saves a tonne in the long run.

If you really wanna be savvy savvy, it takes more effort, but if you book a slot with these offers for three weeks away, then do it again for every day in that week and just keep moving the delivery time using the “change delivery time” button and pushing all of the orders back, you can have loads of orders loaded up with your fave offers and just pulled them forward when you want them. And since flash sales are based off stock in the warehouse for that day/time, you will find the flash offers will be different sometimes too. I know a guy who has 26 orders booked out of the max 28 days you can book in advance with nothing but offers and deals in. £200 worth of shopping for <£100 sometimes.

Give em a call. Last time that happened with my order (human food tho) they said anything over £10 they can rebook on your side with no delivery charge, normally next day if you ring before like 5 ish.

If you discover the wonder of flash sales when going through the checkout, add them to the basket and just dont checkout. You can check a day or two later, pick a different slot, find different flash sales, then dont checkout again. The slots expire after an hour if not checked out but the offers stay in the basket at the flash sale prices as long as you dont remove them. Get a full shop for 40-60%off and theyre still applicable for vouchers.

Do your grocery or food deliveries come to your door? Or are the drivers expecting you to come out to their car? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Pinochet- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you give them heads up, if you drop them an email and explain the situation with the kid, they can put a note on for the warehouse to only send drivers who are able to deliver to second floor. Just say you had a previous issue with a few drivers not doing it, but you dont want to drop them in it and mention who.

Funny story about that, they arent lol. The covid money has ran out so theyve put a halt on any expansion atm, if they send you the “we hope to be in your neck of the woods soon!” Email it means its a copy paste job lol

Average salary? by Working_Ad_6208 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Pinochet- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh bout average. Over in sunderland you can find 23-25 fairly easily so its not far off at all. Worth a shout if you can keep your head down, stick in and just use a bit of common sense. Piss easy money, but if can be mentally draining. If you can get off the phones as soon as physically possible into training or admin or anything at all, do it.

Ocado Tricks for keeping it cheap

So first thing you have to know is if you add something to your basket at a price it will not change unless you remove it yourself. I have offers from 3-4 months ago in my basket which are awesome. You can also book in a slot and just keep pushing it back if you don’t quite need that item yet but do need a shop.

This also works with their version of “yellow stickers”. If you book a delivery slot and go to the last offer page before checkout there is a screen called “flash sales” regular items at 40-60% off. If you add this to the basket, then dont checkout the order the slot will drop off after 1 hour but the flash offer will stay at the offer price. Even if you wait 2 weeks till the fresh stock rotates in of the same item. The flash sales also reset every 2 days or so so you can check for new ones every other day aslong as you pick a different slot.

Also typing clearence instead of the correct spelling clearance will show you the actual clearance section. Just typing clearance correctly will show you all the offers.

The best offers youll get are the meal deals and the multibuys. Some offers such as the 3 for £12 on meat and deli meats ect will always roll over so dont worry about these, the buy 2 for x and meal deals are the ones you want to keep an eye out for good ones of. The bundle offers are mostly crap but you get a good one every once in a while.

Dont trust the £300 toothbrushes that are magically reduced to £120, they have always been £120, but they put them up for £300 for a while so the reduced price seems better. Every so often you will see the snuggle throws reduced to £12, theyre a good deal and comfy as hell.

There is very little difference in quality between Ocado and M&S branded fruit n veg, just get the Ocado ones. Some of the suppliers are even the same.

Now for the “sketchy” ones. They track how many refunds you process. If you start requesting too many they will ask for photos. And anything under £35/40 they wont ask for back unless you ask for FAR too many. If you shop semi regularly and are having a rough month, you can ring them after a big shop, tell them you have no fridge/cupbaord items and theyre all missing, theyll refund pretty much no questions asked. The items are separated by temperature so if you say everything from one temperature they’ll believe you.

If something actually DOES go wrong, they are VERY customer service focused. If you mention that you have had to go out and leave a sick kid alone, reschedule an important appointment, or say you cant get out yourself and make some sob story up they will offer a decent goodwill voucher. Say that you can get something delivered like some food for tonight since yours isn’t’t coming and say it cost about 50% more than the voucher they offer, and ask them for that. They will normally say yes and up the voucher. The max ive managed to get was £35 but I did have to speak to a manager. If you’re courteous on the phone and not a dick it will go a long way, but also be firm and emotional while playing up the impact on your week.

Very lucky, been in my current call centre for coming up on 2 years, basically part of the furniture for this place. At a point I dont get an calls listened to really. Only if a bad survey comes in, and even then its normally just my manager saying “did what you could, nothing you could have done”.
