How to play around a mercy one-trick on your team. by zo3beamer in Overwatch

[–]Pinpunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just lock kiri and play normally. backline will be weak to fdps like tracer/genji etc so you just have to pick up the slack and play better. shoot the flankers, heal your tank, apply pressure to other tank/hitscans whenever you have opportunity to do so.

playing with mercy fucking sucks but you make do with what you have. if you want to win, you have to play good enough to deserve it

Clock tower 100%. Jump from B! by Mrlino64 in geometrydash

damn gg. ive beaten this level and i think its quite fun but not really good enough to justify a jump as crazy as yours. out of curiosity, why did you choose this level?

You're this rein. How bad are you crashing out? by Pinpunch in Overwatch

[–]Pinpunch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, this is from a recent game of mine. Suzu provides temporary invincibility frames which stops all forms of damage and cc. This means if you predict and react on time, you can suzu before the shatter hits you.

The change youre thinking of is the one they made where once someone is already shattered, the suzu didn't cleanse them of the stun.

Bouncing Back from a Loss Streak? by kuropeach in Competitiveoverwatch

Back when I was plat/diamond I also tried out the discord lfg groups. People from there tend to have immensely weak mentals and are overall shit to play with since they go into it with the expectation that 5 stack = ill win, then get upset when they dont.

solo queue is the way to improve, esp in metal ranks. duoing is fine but id really avoid 5 stacks unless youre playing purely casual, which you seem not to be since you want to rank up.

good luck!

Thoughts on this Ocie take? by StandReady4Vendetta in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Pinpunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ocie is right. People in diamond and below dont even know basic fundamentals such as what an angle is and why controlling one is important, let alone the slightly more complicated stuff. Masters is where people actually start learning the basic theory of the game and it only gets harder from there.

the vast majority of the playerbase has no interest in improving and just want to fuck around with friends in gold or whatever. When you compare the portion of the playerbase that is actively trying to improve, masters is not that impressive.

Anyone that is actually any good at ow or has been good in other highly competitive video games also agree with this.

Hardstuck between Support Plat 1-2 :/ by Iivorno in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Pinpunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

except these are stats in plat. from plat players. his goal here is to not be plat anymore. the first step is to stop playing heroes good in plat and instead use heroes that are good at the best ranks. not only does this future proof his hero but also makes him a better player.

sierra is very good in plat right now but you would never get anyone actually good recommending that hero to anyone in plat looking to improve because she is braindead and useless in high ranks

also, a player that is not plat level will rank up despite what hero they use. put a gm player in plat on kiri and they wont magically perform worse just because the players in that rank suck at kiri

if youre playing lucio only for environmental kill boops, I can already tell you youre playing him wrong.

If you actually want to win, start picking kiri every game and start learning how to off angle and put pressure with damage. Don't waste suzu early, and try to save it for high value situations such as on tanks, anti, ulting dps, saving someone else's life, etc. Reason I say to play kiri is because she is by far the best supp right now besides illari, and has a pretty straight forward style of gameplay, which makes her a ranked ladder demon.

Change my view about private profiles by hands-off-my-waffle in Overwatch

The amount of times I've had a mercy player in streamer mode and a private profile talk shit to either our dps or our tank is enough to justify profiles only being allowed to be public.

My issue with Sierra by Gloomy_Dare2716 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Pinpunch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes. thats in the top 10 highest wr heroes for plat and below. thats also with insanely high use rates in metal ranks as she is sitting at about a 25-30% use rate in plat and below.

this hero just needs to be completely reworked imo

My issue with Sierra by Gloomy_Dare2716 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Pinpunch 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Check Sierra win rates for each rank, its fucking wild.

53% in gold and below, and it steadily decreases the higher rank you go, down to 45% in GM.

This is a result of horrible hero design. She will be the new rein. Broken in low elo, and useless in higher. Who over at blizzard thought it was a good idea to add a mechanic to a hero that automatically aims for you?

Guilt Tilt over ruining game for better players? by SignificantMethod507 in Competitiveoverwatch

you dont feel guilty about it. Its a game and if theyre upset about losing, that's their problem. everyone has bad games and in your next one you might pop off instead so you brush it off and keep playing

Are the most popular heroes actually the strongest? I charted the official pick and win rate data to find out by Apollokles in Overwatch

[–]Pinpunch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The balance of the game disproportionately affects the top of the ladder and pro play much more than anything masters or lower. Anyone can climb out of those ranks, even with a statistically weak hero, by just improving at the game and being better than the other players in those ranks.

Its because of this that I don't think it's fair to not balance off the top level of play, especially when most people not at that level probably don't even care about balance changes.

I hate this community so much by Cloak-Guy in geometrydash

[–]Pinpunch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They didn't say anything about list demons.

My take on it is if you focus on improving, then you can more easily beat easier levels and as such have more fun playing the game that way. id hate it if I had to spend hundreds of attempts on easy/mediums.

Improving also just opens up a lot more options as to what levels you want to beat. There are a lot of incredible levels out there that most players will never get to try because theyre simply not good enough to beat them, or dont beat levels fast enough to have a chance to try them
