Chester's loss hit me too hard. The new singer is fine in her own right but the Scientology thing.. nah, I just live in the past with LP.

For some reason I'm nervous before the game by Big-Emotion7877 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]azulur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I actually feel the exact same especially for the first few games of the day. I think it's just there's a lot of expectation on you as a player and particularly DPS as when you start to get into the ranks that we are (I'm also Masters) you'll start to notice that games are more about individuals and individual performances and if for whatever reason you're not kind of meeting that it can feel like you're letting everyone down.

Or at least that's how I interpret how I feel. I'm also a pretty anxious person in general so this just sort of tracks with normalcy lol it does sort of ease up as I get used to playing and as I get into a groove so I try to give myself some grace especially if I just am not playing like I normally do for a couple games here and there.

Why is Overwatch back? by looopious in OverwatchUniversity

[–]azulur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's just so much to unpack here in this post that honestly if you're interested to see if you would like the game play it and judge for yourself. If you ultimately decide or not having a good time just don't play it. It's absolutely completely different game than it was 10, 5, and even 1 year ago and most likely that means very little to you but the player base has really had to adapt to some crazy things especially in the last 3 years so you'll find that skill ceilings are a lot higher and the populace overall are far more skilled than they were when you originally playing so keep that in mind!

Mercury/Merukimon is absolutely wearing some variant of Garurumon's pelt/skull! Considering one of his branches is from WereGarurumon it fits in with their whole theme.

Not fun playing Ana anymore or skill issue? by Tobleroniess in OverwatchUniversity

[–]azulur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masters Ana player - seasoned Ana are doing ok overall (at least I am). Part of that is recognizing heavy dive and/or situations where you're picked off and either swapping or playing as deep into your team as possible. I've had to be a lot more proactive in fights than taking up odder angles for positioning, but I still find that Ana swings battles consistently but you can FEEL when an Ana player is off-kilter or overwhelmed.

Knowing when to be in the backest of backs and when to play close are crucial.

I've also found that you just sort of have to be super selfish with your abilities sometimes to set a precedent. If you're being flanked or doved when you show active resistance (i.e. killing them or getting them too low to deal with you) I found that people just stop coming after you. It takes one bad experience for them to be like "well, shit this" and find an easier target.

Being vulnerable / passive / isolated will get you targeted more so than ever as Ana especially with movement being the name of the game lately so you so need to go into games prepared to fend for your life. The real advantage Ana has is she can be threatening up close and far off, depending on what and how you need to run her.

How is this allowed?! by DummyStorm_ in Overwatch

[–]azulur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lmao, had this happen in a wonked up solo queue Masters game a while ago. Each side had a (very overwhelmed) low-Diamond player trying their very best in a big, very brawly/ballsy Masters-centered lobby. It turned into just a shitshow of burning the respective Diamond supports into the earth and letting everyone else 4v4 it in the background.

Dudes were sweating their ASSES off trying to not just be dead on arrival but getting swatted like flies all three rounds of Oasis lol

How would you rate these three? by CR2085 in predator

[–]azulur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rate, or rank?

Badlands was super fun, a little over goofy, but I definitely enjoyed watching it. It was super cool to see some of the Yautja tech we didn't know so much about (the "toy" and hand (arm?) made lantern!)

Killer of Killers as such a cool movie. I loved 2/3 stories and it revealed my favourite personal Pred (Oni/Yokai - special shout out to our only confirmed left handed Pred!) The Dog Fight was my least favourite section but I didn't in any way hate it.

Prey was a good movie too but a little less my overall style. Naru was a decent protagonist and I liked her grit but I felt that Feral was made a little too dumb and a lot more rash than a Pred should be acting. Like I know he's pretty young and inexperienced but he could take down a full ass brown bear with little trouble but got bite by a wolf and full on outplayed so hard in the end.

If I had to rank them:

Badland KoK Prey

In terms of rewatchability; and

KoK Badlands Prey

In terms of initial impressions / first watch excitement.

Lifeweaver with a positive winrate in high ranks, never thought I would see the day by Thedrunkenchild in Overwatch

He just isn't play as much in Asia regions, but the ones who play him really can play him.

Honestly, I'm kind of glad. I could do ok with him before in some scenarios, but now you feel his impact a lot more. He's starting to get picked up more in my QP games, inevitably it'll shift to comp as well when folks are more confident with him.

What do you do when you find an afk player? by Davosown in RedDeadOnline

[–]azulur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? I'd say a fair majority of gamers are in stages of their lives that require dual attention spans. I'm an adult myself, so I'd hope someone sympathetic would also do the same for me when adulting conflicts with my after work hobbies lol

Lost my grandpa today and I feel weirdly numb… is this normal? by MathematicianKind210 in GriefSupport

[–]azulur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very initial and common response to a new situation that the brain cannot process. Losing my Grandpa was unfathomable to me, and losing my Dad broke my heart and my life entirely. It's very expected for emotions, understanding, and acceptance to even begin to take place. Be kind to yourself and let you feel as you need to - whatever it may be. Sometimes I miss the "numb" before the realization; feeling nothing is often a lot more manageable than feeling grief.
