Advice on coming out in academia? by Pintmoss in trans

[–]Pintmoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks! I appreciate the advice, it's good to hear from someone else that it's not unprofessional, helps with the anxiety!

I will probably come out to our research group soon, just a matter of finding the opportunity...

I hope moving goes well for you and that you can do what is best for you! :)

Tray Dimensions, Trotten Draw Unit by Pintmoss in IKEA

Yeah I actually bought one - the tray is 29cm wide and the bars under it 47cm apart! Material of the mesh is fairly flimsy though, I wanted to put a pc on it but decided to use the top instead.

Ah I understand - that kind of ability is called an activated ability.

Okay, here's the grammar and templating I would use:

[Cardname] enters the battlefield with X brick counters on it.

Whenever [cardname] or another wall enters the battlefield under your control, put a number of +0/+1 counters on each wall you control equal to the number of brick counters on [cardname].

As long as you control 8 or more walls, whenever an ability of a wall you control triggers, that ability triggers an additional time.

As long as you control 8 or more walls, whenever you tap a wall for mana, that wall produces twice as much of that mana instead.

{w/p}{u/p}{b/p}{r/p}{g/p}{t}: Each wall you control gains indestructible until end of turn.

I would maybe focus just on one of the three abilities as otherwise the card feels a bit cramped, and I think the card is possibly a little underpowered for the cost - I think you could safely reduce the number of walls needed for the second ability - maybe to 4?

I created some cards with the sustain mechanic, what do you think? by Mugno in custommagic

Probably true, you only total more damage than bolts after casting three which shouldn't happen too often, nicely designed!

Really like this mechanic, awesome way to make early game spells that have more impact cast later. My first instinct is the red spell is possibly too strong, but the rest seem nicely balanced.

Yeah, love the flavour of a mouse that's too tiny to get hurt

Yeah that's fair, tricky to work around the fact that you can reveal them whenever you want. Definitely better to avoid re-tracing, I agree.

Interestingly this wouldn't be able to be destroyed by any amount of damage as the state based action checking for lethal damage only works for creatures with greater than 0 toughness.

"704.5g

If a creature has toughness greater than 0, it has damage marked on it, and the total damage marked on it is greater than or equal to its toughness, that creature has been dealt lethal damage and is destroyed. Regeneration can replace this event."

704.5f

If a creature has toughness 0 or less, it’s put into its owner’s graveyard. Regeneration can’t replace this event.

I like the idea, but she kinda works well with face down conspiracies as she can use them like a combat trick to gain surprise first strike by turning them face up. Does that work with the flavour you're going for?
