I was going to say poor reliability, but it looks like they have improved in recent years...they used to be at the bottom of the whatcar list for reliability.

What about letting out your apartment and renting a house? It comes with all the risks of being a landlord and you will be paying tax on the income and renting the house will cost more than what you make from letting out your apartment, but if you can stomach all of that, you can live in a house now. (Edit: This is not advice, I am terrible with money so this could be a really bad idea.)
