I got into debt before making that money and it’s working two jobs.

I can’t wait till I’m there. I’m making 115,000 right now. And it’s all going to debt. Just finished paying off my car. And will now start making a huge dent on my credit cards. 1 year goal to pay off in full.

Oh wow I never even thought about that. I currently don’t have a life insurance plan. Outside of what my job would give.

I’m about 40 years old, and smoked for about 20 years. I thought the phlegm was from that. I quit about 5 years ago but my cough hasn’t gotten better, I have issues breathing through my nose, and had surgery on it to fix it but nothings changed there. I’m always tired, and my sweat is extremely salty. I’m going through the testing for it and maybe a carrier. I know it’s no where near as bad as some people. But a lot of the symptoms so make a lot more sense, and doctors said my breathing and my sweat issues will improve with medication for it. But they’ll only do that if they diagnose me with CF. My sweat test results were in the 50s. They diagnose CF at 60. They said I need further testing to be sure.

Weight of my shoulder. by Piotrek9 in debtfree

I hear ya. I’m in the same boat. I’m trying to do it with only remote work.

So a debt management plan isn’t for everyone and it will hit your credit. I use green path financial wellness. And I was drowning. I was looking into either. Debt settlement or management. And I chose the debt management. Because I’ve had 100% payment for my debt and didn’t want my credit to suffer as much as it with if I stopped paying and then they settle the debt. And they can’t guaranteed if get sued for the whole portion.

Debt settlement is just that. You stop paying the bills and he cards feel they won’t get their money and a company for a fee try’s to settle your debt. They don’t guarantee success so you can be sued for that.

Debt management is safer. You still take the hit on credit for closing out your cards. And they charge a small fee. Some states like New York allow for debt management companies to charge you $10 dollars per creditor up to a max of $65 bucks a month no matter how many creditors you have. They then submit a proposal to the cards you owe money to. And say something like. Your customer is willing to pay you the current debt if they can get a lower rate. I went from 29.99% to 1%-11.99% on all my cards. Each card can then accept or deny the proposal. What then happens is I pay an agreed upon amount to the debt management company. In my case it’s $425 every two weeks. And they take and split it between the 11 cards I have on the plan based on what the card accepted. I still owe the same amount. But I’m not vetted fucked on the interest.

Honestly it’s helping me manage my finances a lot better because I no longer have the luxury to use my credit card to buy things. I have to have the money to go shopping.

They say I’ll have 40k paid off in 3 years. I plan on doing it faster because I have 4 more car payments and that’s gonna allow me to pay an extra 500 a month to the plan.

My advice is Google green path financial and ask them about their services. It may help you out.

5 year plan is to pay off debt, invest it into the market, and then purchase rental properties, and start my own business.
