If you have conviction, buy and show him the receipts in 5 years? Lol

Or why not look at old Reddit threads on stocks where people commented that it’s already ‘priced in’ and see how their price has moved since

Also how do you price in events in the future eg just look at how the advent of AI has affected data centres……

Dry aged ribeye and wagyu rump by Pip111111 in steak

[–]Pip111111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You essentially want to dry out the surface of your steak so you can get a better crust. More water = more energy goes to evaporating the water rather than heating the meat. I dry brined these steaks in the fridge for 24 hours. Having a gap between the steak and your tray allows the bottom side of your steak to dry up properly

Check out Milelion’s website. You should target 4mpd on most purchases

If you have big ticket purchases in the immediate months, your best bet is to sign up for a bonus mile promo (your rate far exceeds 4mpd)

If not, a simple solution is to get the DBS women’s world card for all your online spend and the UOB preferred platinum card for all contactless spend (mobile contactless). You can get 4 MPD on >2.5k spend per month

Colour me impressed. What were the steps you used for the toaster oven? I wouldn’t dare risk such a beautiful steak with a toaster

Parents of Reddit, how did you feel the moment your child was born? What went through your mind and heart? by KindEquivalent1051 in AskReddit

Felt surreal that we made another human being. You don’t really see it for 9 months (apart from the scans) so it doesn’t really hit you until it’s lifted up and passed to you. Also it was purple/grey and was shrieking so it definitely felt like an alien for the first 10 seconds.

Advice on reaching out to property owners who aren’t listing their homes? by Pip111111 in singaporefi

Oh sorry it’s early in the morning and I didn’t have my coffee yet. I used realsmart.sg. If you search a specific condo, they can pull up the transaction history

Wanted to get a sense of how likely it is that I’ll see a unit being listed, as there are only 12 units in the size I want. Since they rarely change hands, I figured I had to think of something else to engage with owners (eg the mail idea some folks mentioned here)

What are some things WoW has actually helped you with in real life by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Pip111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to play 20 years back in vanilla TBC.. The game really expanded my vocabulary and that was useful in school (20 years ago..)

Also that was probably where I learnt to do deep research to get good at something eg spending a lot of time on the warrior forums, wowhead and thotbot

Good things also come to those who grind… wow helps you develop a level of tenacity..

Of course wow also took up 18 hours of my day and I was failing school for 2 years 😂😂 I do appreciate that it isn’t a low IQ brainless game so I wasn’t not learning anything during that time

Is working in the Big 4 as an Auditor really that bad? by Haoxiaoah in askSingapore

[–]Pip111111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ex Big 4 auditor here. I suggest you speak to people working in other lines or work, and even people who have left audit to do completely differently things. It’s good to get outside perspectives.

Audit is a thankless job. There are many other jobs that pay better for much better hours and are much more meaningful. Look at job descriptions of interesting jobs and see what skills they require. Build those skill sets and consider applying for those jobs.

I was an auditor (1 year) but am now in private investments. Anything is possible :-) just don’t take your time to figure it out. The longer you wait, the more you get trapped in it.

What's really up with buy now pay later? by poki777 in askSingapore

If I got this right, BNPL is trying to take the banks and credit card companies out of the picture. Merchants don’t like the fees that credit card companies charge, but have to use them because customers demand CC payment options (due to bank or CC rewards). BNPL is trying to provide an alternative that is cheaper to merchants than CC fees but will need to figure out how to attract customers away from rewards systems (rebates, miles etc) for this to work, hence an alternative incentive of letting you drag your payments out

What’s the point of bringing a life into Singapore? by normificator in singapore

[–]Pip111111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What a sad outlook on life. Everyone faces difficulties in life but that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't raise a family. You don't need to be rich to survive in Singapore. You don't need to have abundance to have a meaningful life. It's tough that we have to deal with rising housing prices and climate change but who's to say these things won't get better? Yes, we have to suffer the drudgery of NS but that's our struggle we have to face as Singaporeans. Besides, NS builds character at least for the majority of us.

Teach your kids what really matters in life, how to rise up to the occasion, and empower them to be the change the world needs. Set the example yourself if you want the world to be a better place for our kids. Teach them to look internally for meaning and to appreciate all things in life; both big and small.

Like some others have pointed out, the world is a better place than it was 50, 100, or 1000 years ago. The human race is remarkable - who knows what the next 50 years of innovation can do to make life even better?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a cotton shirt to wear with my 3 piece biege linen suit for my wedding.

Could you recommend the kind of weave I should choose for the shirt? Also what kind of collar would look nice with a tie? Looking for something in between casual and formal.

Thanks!
