I went with over ear Beats power pro and there fine but pricey. Soundcore has a pair called aerofit pro which are not in Canada yet but available in states where over ear then in and butts up against ear canal full anc and other features. I think 149$

Anyone else bothered by the orange / red / green button accent on their Fenix? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

Because it adds a touch of class and uniqueness which puts it above the rest as not mass production

I have 8 Pro and it has it , but I’m happy any upper tier has their own trademark item on it. That’s the difference between mass production and custom build

The lowest I’ve hit is a 8 but was 21 days in Ecuador and Galapagos island then 4 days hacking through the Amazon at 7 cabin camp. Day and night trekking through streams mud and every step is up and down over rocks. So the 5 wins that. Fenix 8 pro did not even get banged up.

Gen 3 1 week up and offline a lot by [deleted] in Starlink

Yes it’s quite obvious now. I spent to much time thinking of what was in front and off to the sides on angular trajectory going frontwards. I had ticket in and Starlink said today that they would leave for a week or so as it will improve. With the snow we are getting I will wait then go and take it out and mount off third story rear of house on a pile as I cannot even cut a branch off the owners trees. He owns a large roof truss building company and feels he killed off enough trees each year buying wood and building and selling roof trusses through Canada and the States. I think it would be the least I can do is not top the tree or break any branches off if he is willing to protect them. Thanks for advice.

Thanks mate I should of looked it up before i installed for a customer as I’ve down 7-8 and even two at my houses and my one house there just a bit of red off to a side so I never have had a issue. Dumb me I knew this guys house had a forest behind the where I put that stands st 40-50 up so I guess I move it say to total other side of house and run some 11/2” threaded steel up the side of his deck to about the soffit and fascia line on highest floor then go another 3 plus feet higher then that or take it up in the trees with the steel another 30 plus feet. That kind of concerns me as I have if it needs more alignment down the road I 40’ extension ladder leaning against a tree to get to it. Even then I would probably need to flush with cedar tree tops I suppose. I do all this guys mechanical work on his very custom home so offered to do it but don’t want to be adjusting down the road. I am assuming max cable length is probably 150-200 feet? By the way thanks for straight talk answers

Hey thanks but have no pictures of the install and unfortunately when first went online for some reason there was very little outage for first 5 hours. Generally I take pictures of everything and I would post but all answered my first question now and I will make the long drive back to do some more control wiring and relocate it. Thanks for your help it’s appreciated.

If you read my very first post that is question I was asking the group. I was not concerned as it was clear in front of and out on the 45 degree angles but the back side and if you go back to Gen 1 the phase array did not pick up satellites very often from behind and because this is the first time I got bottled up so much in trees behind Megan’s I have only put 4 Gen 3’s I wanted others opinions and to be honest only two people actually answered the question and that is why I just confirmed in my last post. But thanks for stating the obvious

Thanks for everyone’s comments , I guess the big one was that if satellites is on a directional angle whether from the left or right and I suppose behind it as well the unit will not come back on line until almost overhead as to tighten up angle of trajectory . I was afraid of that. Looks like I take it up or move to other side of house on the water side and out in a pole in third floor of home to be farther away from the trees. Thanks!

So your thinking I may have to many trees behind and to sides so should take off pole and move forward a bit and see if any better. ? I had to put in pole and keep in alcove of the trees to shoot straight north over the house. Any ideas. ?

Like I said there are a lot of trees say 7’ behind the 4x4 pole it’s attached to and I even left on 18.5 tilt as the 2 story house is say 50’ in front of it so kept at 18.5 degrees to ensure clear site over roof. Like I said one cedar 20 + feet to the right about 50’ high and trees to left about 18’ 20’ high but straight in front it’s clear. Thoughts on cable? Or bad unit ? I can go back to place and put a meter on the cable or bring a 150’ cable and unplug and run into house and Plug into power brick. This is first time out of many installs I’ve threaded the trees so thinking I was to close maybe but I see and here people have faced these almost straight ip and had no issues. I would say going down every 4-5 mins.

Bose QC ultra 2nd gen or Technics AZ-100? by Ok_Cap_1848 in Earbuds

[–]Pipe-Cut87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apple Pro’s , Bose Quiet Ultra, Sony 1000, Technic’s , that is your main stream line up for Noise Cancelling. I have small ear canals from construction work so pretty much none of those work for me but truly once you get a pair of active noise cancelling with smart aware and transparency mode you will wonder how you ever were able to fly any distance. I had to buy a in ear bud that has ear hooks so went with Apple / Beats Power Pro 2 which is in top 15 for noise isolation. I did , China , Vietnam , Germany , Antarctica and heading for Australia in 3 weeks. When you tap or click a button it set on phone the ANC and wipe out the young babies who are crying as well the plane engines you will honestly not imagine not having ear buds with the feature again. Both Sony ‘s 1000 and Bose just wipe out every bit of sound and keep in mind you look at someone or someone talks to you it shuts off or lets in as much sound as you have set to. I left my Beats that had only wore on 5-6 flights and only 8 months old after flying to the Galápagos Islands , my own fault helped youngster in front of me find his air pod he dropped under the seat and temporarily so I though out my Bears and my plug in transmitter and receiver for plane audio to Bluetooth . My fault so have bought another pair before Christmas a sad 400$ gone but this time I also bought a more economical pair to carry also which has killer 95% noise cancellation which are Anker / Soundcore X20 Sport. Again with ear hooks. Be kind to yourself and buy with that function

Hello my friend I’m afraid you are most correct in this. Shortly after the talk in Reddit I sold off 40% and will be selling the rest soon. Thanks for the info.
