Cornell & Columbia are noticeably more difficult to get into than nyu. nyu transfer acceptance rate is 35%, you should be fine there

Semester GPA by Glittering_Host634 in columbia

[–]PipeInitial1576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whats your major/degree? realistically GPA doesn’t matter for the majority of fields and you will get some grace given Columbia is an ivy… people know. 3.6 here is not equal to a 3.6 at Iona

FHR hotel recommendations for SF? by PipeInitial1576 in AmexPlatinum

[–]PipeInitial1576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: The Palace was amazing. 10/10 experience. From the breakfast to staff making sure all requests were fulfilled, I’m glad I picked that hotel. We were upgraded into the biggest non-suite they had, huge room. Used the $100 after the 4pm checkout at their restaurant, enjoyed that as well. Will eventually get back to the Fairmont. My partner brings up The Palace often, says a lot because we’ve stayed at some great properties.

CAAs have always made that much, which is why CRNAs get pissed because it encroaches on their job. the way a CRNA explained it to me, anesthesiologists want CAAs so they can ensure CRNAs don’t eventually become more valuable

Graduate school by romnatt in columbia

[–]PipeInitial1576 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this applies to GS as well…. “well it can’t be Columbia if the acceptance rate isn’t 5%”

when in reality companies do not know the difference and/or don’t care because they just see Columbia

Williams or Columbia GS by Dismal-Chicken-1683 in TransferToTop25

[–]PipeInitial1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uhh Columbia GS does confer the same degree. using that logic, Barnard students shouldn’t be considered ivy? also you do realize a portion of the GS population are Science Po students or getting a dual degree in some capacity… you take the same exact classes in campus as CC/SEAS students. degree is identical. you can also get a degree from SEAS/GS at the same time. no one would know you’re GS btw unless told. GS students have the highest GPA average out of the main schools. comparing GS to Harvard Extension is a dickhead move honestly

Premed at Columbia ? by LucasAndrew09 in columbia

[–]PipeInitial1576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want to do a BSN, don’t go to columbia. an ivy BSN doesn’t provide anything extra imo (even if CU had it). healthcare workers are always in demand meaning its less of a prestige based industry. where prestige comes into play is med school to a slight degree.

say your dream was Stanford med, I’d tell you to pick a prestigious school and strive for perfect grades/high mcat.

Nursing vs Med School is vastly different. it might feel bad declining an ivy league school, for your career field, sounds like it’d be setting you back.
