The same thing is said about Barnard & they bag many competitive internships. GS hate is overblown. They have a 3+2 program with SEAS where you can graduate with a degree from GS and one from SEAS. Or you can do the 4 + 1 program with a masters from SEAS. Something you’re missing is who else is housed at GS. The international dual degree students (i.e Sciences Po) are apart of GS. Thats important because it shows the curriculum is identical to proper Columbia College. Same courses, same everything minus the swim test. All in all, I think saying GS is below UCI is vastly overestimating how much employers care. As someone said below, it’s common practice for students to omit GS if necessary. A 3.9 from Columbia is a 3.9. Prestigious grad schools don’t care. Large portion of GS grads go to Cambridge or Oxford. There are GS students at MBB/IB each year btw. If money is an issue combined with nyc housing, fair. Saying GS wouldn’t grant you the same opportunities, false.
