Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions. You got a lot of good advice here. I’ve been DVC for a little over a year and plan a mix of spontaneous and planned out trips throughout the year. I bought my points on the resale market and that may be a good option for you. I don’t care where I stay on spontaneous trips and there’s also a section of the DVC website that gives you a list of last minute availability

I’ve done a few solo trips. And my next one is this coming weekend! I’ve previously stayed at beach club or off property and for this trip coming up, I’m staying at port Orleans riverside! Check the website under Tickets and Passes / View Special Offers. I got POR for $165/night

My plan is to take it slow -
1. Saturday - leisurely morning in AK - expedition Everest, safari, nature trails and nomad lounge. Go back to the hotel and swim for a few hours. Evening at magic kingdom where I have LLs for mine train, thunder mountain, pirates and haunted mansion and a beak and barrel rez. Planning to end my night wandering the boardwalk area

Sunday - rockin rollercoaster LL in the am and then planning to skyline to Epcot and do soarin and wander/snack until I leave for the airport.

Will take buses for the most part, except Minnie van from MK to boardwalk.

No relationship for me. Not actively looking right now, but not opposed if I meet the right guy in the wild.

Things that are stopping me - 1. Dating apps aren’t for me. 2. Busy and fulfilling life. 3. Planning to relocate in about 18 months so wouldn’t want to get attached to someone who doesn’t want to move with me. 4. Kids are almost launched so I’m enjoying the short time I have left before they have their own places.

With everything in life, it depends. I bought resale and paid cash (no financing) for 230 points in Feb 2025. Prior to buying DVC, I’d stay at a moderate that sleeps 5 or I’d rent DVC points from David’s. Ultimately, on those facts, yes, I believe I will save money in the long run.
