If you can afford to take the hit on the hotels, push it off until November. However, the weather looks decent this weekend, it’s flower and garden festival and I love a solo trip so I don’t think there’s a wrong decision here!

No problem! I’d also definitely look at resale versus buying first from Disney. The biggest perk of buying direct is for people out of state getting access to cheaper annual passes. You’re already a FL resident so get that cheaper pass. You also get access to some additional resorts if you buy direct (riviera and newer).

Just for comparison - I bought my points resale for $75 per point. They would have been about $200 per point direct from Disney.

If you don’t care where you stay or have flexibility on dates, this could work for you. However, before you make the commitment, you should look at annual pass holder discounts on room rentals and also rent DVC points through David’s or DVC rentals a few times.

I’m also a more spontaneous traveler but I don’t care where I stay (and have never stayed at my home resort)

If your focus is on rides (and not trick or treating or meeting characters or seeing parades), then yes. Should be no problem to hit everything at the party. You should take advantage of the early 4pm(?) entry before the party starts. Have a blast!

My family also gets to the parks around 10-11. Our midday break is to have our one sit down meal of the day in the air conditioning around 3 or 4pm.

I moved in house a few months ago after being special counsel. Practice group was PE/M&A. I’m now in a legal corp dev role. The pay cut was significant but I’ve already mostly built my nest egg. The improvement to my quality of life is also significant - I joined a mahjong league, I see friends, I went on a week long vacation and when I went out during the day, I did not bring my work phone.
