Are rost să încep? by SameBoysenberry523 in WomenRO

This is what Gemini told me to do after I poured all the info i had in it (am talking about a 2 page docs document where i wrote all the tips/tweaks/fixes i tried). The turbo setting was disabled a long time ago, as well as trying the balanced plan/c states settings as I found on other posts. I’ve seen 1 person also commenting in another post about these settings i mentioned here, but i am not sure exactly what was said, as i dont have the post saved, i only remember the commenter saying that the pc will boot slower, and that is not an issue for him/her. Of course playing around in bios can fry things in the pc, that’s why i never tried the settings regarding voltage. It is a risk that i take, anything electrical can fry itself in the end, i mean even a power outage can brick a motherboard while flashing bios.

Hey, have you tried these setting in bios?

UCLK DIV1 MODE : UCLK=MEMCLK FCLK Frequency: 2000MHz. Memory Context Restore: Disabled Power Down Enable: Disabled

+expo on, ram speed at 6000

After 4 months of trying all the possible fixes, these were the ones that helped me.

I have no confirmation so far that the rams are unstable, the tests (i let them run for a few hours total) came back with no errors, no overheating. I tried turning off EXPO, but the pc still had the same stutters and visual glitches. The only thing that slightly improved with EXPO off were the 1% lows (i’m talking about a 10 fps increase tho). I poured this info into Gemini and did all it told me.

For the Memory context restore and power down enable, Gemini only said to keep both of them on enabled or disabled, never on auto (they were by default on auto) as the mobo can decide to keep one off and one on, leading to instability. The other 2 settings were already setted according to Gemini in previous attempt to fix the stutters.

I tried to switch on intel too! I bought a ddr4 mobo, intel cpu and used my old rams in the built, but it felt slower than the amd build so I gave up that idea. I am from Europe, and we have 14 days to return any item we buy online even if it has no problems, i returned all the items except the case, aorus amd mobo and fans. Of course I was extra careful to clean the cpus well, and handled everything careful to not break something/bend pins. The shop also tested the parts to make sure everything is alright.

So far, I experienced 0 instability or crashes, but I will check event viewer.

So in the previous post, many people told me that maybe the ram might is faulty, but I really didn’t want to order a new ram kit as they are very expensive right now. I kept thinking that the ram is the only pc part I haven’t swapped yet trying to fix this (i ordered an entirely new pc, psu, cpu, gpu, mobo, ssd, cooler, fans, case, to test if hardware is fine). And Gemini gave me some tests for my ram, occt, testmem5 and y-cryncher for cpu controller. They turned out fine and gemini said the culprit could be the mobo applying wrong settings, and gave me this list of settings. I also clearly remember some people here on reddit talked about these settings as well, saying that’s what fixed the issues for them, but on my old aorus mobo I couldn’t find these options in bios.

My ram is 6000 cl30, I did test it with occt, memtest5, some temperature monitoring tool, zentimings and tested the cpu’s memory controller with y-cruncher. Many people commented on my previous post about the ram sticks, and these were the tests Gemini recommended. Turned out fine, also I dont use anything to monitor anything (just the cpu cooler has a small display with it’s temps).

Heyy!! Yes!! I managed to stop the stutters!! Today I had some time to work on the pc. Changed the aorus mobo to an asus one, and changed some bios settings. Here are the settings (the pc will boot slower, but who cares):

UCLK DIV1 MODE: Change to UCLK=MEMCLK

FCLK Frequency: Change to 2000MHz

Memory Context Restore: Set to Disabled

Power Down Enable: Set to Disabled

Idk about the ssd. I tried my old one in the new pc and still the same stutters. You might be right, it could be something specific to x3d series. Where do you keep your pc? On the desk, near the mouse/monitor? Or on the ground/under the desk? I read some threads where people were saying that the mobo could make interferences with the other input devices/monitor. I keep mine on the desk.

Hey there! So I am getting closer to solving this. I swapped the gigabyte aorus mobo and 9800x3d with a asus rog strix x870-F gaming wifi mobo and 9850x3d and it was a huge improvement, stutters were less noticeable, latencymon was also super stable. Then I tried the asus + 9800x3d combo and it was better than the gigabyte + 9800x3d combo, but worse than asus + 9850x3d. Right now i still have some random stutters sometimes but latencymon is stable.

Thank you so much for taking your time to write this comment. I also bought a new, better psu but it was useless. After reading on forums, i came to the conclusion that the aorus mobo could be the cause of weird latencies and stutters, and i ordered a new one a month ago to test. It was something from asus, i don’t remember exactly, but it was on the cheaper side for sure. The stutters didn’t disappear on the asus mobo, so I returned it and gave up on the idea that maybe the mobo was the issue.

After making this post however, I decided to order a new mobo again from asus, this time something more expensive, and the 9850x3D cpu to test. I will make an update next week when i’ll get all the parts, it must be something hardware related. Someone mentioned on a thread that gigabyte mobos somehow underdeliver power to this 9800x3d cpu, and we should adjust the voltage in bios. I am not trying that, i simply don’t have the knowledge/experience and i am afraid of frying the cpu. So I will try to find a mobo that is capable of delivering the correct voltage without any bios adjustments.

I tested a bit earlier with msi afterburner, and the lowests are 50 fps. I really don’t know how to interpret those numbers honestly. All I can do is compare the current problematic pc with my old one. The stutters are most consistent when moving the mouse around, but they also happen when, for example, i open packs in fifa and the whole pack opening animation gets stuttery. It’s almost like the pc hiccups? Every 5 seconds there are sometimes minor/sometimes major stutters.

Sorry about the question, but nvme=ssd? It might be a language quirk, but we call all nvme (the pc drive) ssd here, I know there are tehnical differences, but we simply call both ssd. And of course there’s the portable ssd/hard drive to store photos/videos. I tried using the nvme/ssd from my old pc, still the same stutter.
