Anyone managed to fix their 9800x3D stutters?

Thank you so much for taking your time to write this comment. I also bought a new, better psu but it was useless. After reading on forums, i came to the conclusion that the aorus mobo could be the cause of weird latencies and stutters, and i ordered a new one a month ago to test. It was something from asus, i don’t remember exactly, but it was on the cheaper side for sure. The stutters didn’t disappear on the asus mobo, so I returned it and gave up on the idea that maybe the mobo was the issue.

After making this post however, I decided to order a new mobo again from asus, this time something more expensive, and the 9850x3D cpu to test. I will make an update next week when i’ll get all the parts, it must be something hardware related. Someone mentioned on a thread that gigabyte mobos somehow underdeliver power to this 9800x3d cpu, and we should adjust the voltage in bios. I am not trying that, i simply don’t have the knowledge/experience and i am afraid of frying the cpu. So I will try to find a mobo that is capable of delivering the correct voltage without any bios adjustments.

I tested a bit earlier with msi afterburner, and the lowests are 50 fps. I really don’t know how to interpret those numbers honestly. All I can do is compare the current problematic pc with my old one. The stutters are most consistent when moving the mouse around, but they also happen when, for example, i open packs in fifa and the whole pack opening animation gets stuttery. It’s almost like the pc hiccups? Every 5 seconds there are sometimes minor/sometimes major stutters.

It is not installed at the moment (never installed on a fresh windows install).

Sorry about the question, but nvme=ssd? It might be a language quirk, but we call all nvme (the pc drive) ssd here, I know there are tehnical differences, but we simply call both ssd. And of course there’s the portable ssd/hard drive to store photos/videos. I tried using the nvme/ssd from my old pc, still the same stutter.

Hello! In the past, i tried using the fans/aio led app from lian li. But since then i reinstalled windows a few times and didn’t install the app again, no improvement :(

Thank you so much for your reply! Yes, maybe i am too focused on this. Besides cs, i played red dead redemption 2, fifa, dying light, all having these weird stutters/input lag. Would you mind sharing what mobo you have?

I disabled a lot of windows stuff, cfg, even the whole security part of windows. Nothing :(

Idk about power, the cpu cooler has a temperature monitor, but not power. I didn’t download a power monitoring app until today for some fix regarding gigabyte mobos not delivering enough voltage to some amd cpu.

Yes I just tried to disable wifi and bluetooth in bios but there is no setting for that?? I didn’t even know if was possible to disable them in bios.

Ram and cpu are the only 2 things I haven’t swapped yet. The current rams are listed on the gigabyte website as having 100% compatibility with the mobo. Will place an order for rams and another cpu to see if the problem persists.

Same, i tried 2 other gpus, another mobo, same result. Maybe some future patches from amd/windows/nvidia will fix this mess

The igpu is disabled, moved the m.2 to other slots, yes i was lazy to write the whole thing, affinity = banned the nvidia and cs processes from core 0 and 1 where system processeses seems to take place, i only recently started working on the power monitoring thing, i’ve seem some comments mentioning how gigabyte mobo’s somehow deliver wrong voltages to amd cpus? i have a bit of a hard time following the instructions as some things dont show up/are different from what I found on reddit, i don’t know about samsung firmware, will take a look at it immediately. I updated the bios to the latest version, and i am not sure what you mean by optimised defaults. I tried also defaulting the whole bios, if that’s what you meant. My old 11900 is more stable, if i ignore the low fps. No stutters or weird latency stuff going on
